I just feel we're back to early 90s and we're going to see different versions of SFIV...........

SFIV (then)
SSFIV (now)

and future............
SSFIV Turbo
SSFIV Turbo Champion

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

You have no idea how much I want those fucking days back, considering what "gaming" has become now.

New SSF4 interview with Seth

Killian told me that he was originally "a little concerned that it would be crappy," but it seems that Capcom pulled it out in the end, as SSFIV was looking pretty sharp. As good as it is, it's still Street Fighter IV. Killian told it straight, saying that if you didn't like SFIV, you're not going to like this one. Makes sense. That being said, I think I'm going to like this one better.

Hype level at 0%

I'm prolly still gonna buy SS4.

I hated SS4 for a while, but got into it a bit after a while... I am excited to try this one out. I must say, the guy giving demonstrations sucks. I know he helped make it, but man he sucks at what he's trying to show off a lot of times in those vids.

Considering they brought Gouken, Rose, Gen, and Adon back to life I don't see why Charlie can't come back

Oh please, really... let's be honest: they don't care if someone died or not. Why (how) is Guy and Cody still young? Why is Cody still fresh (I'm talking SUPER fresh) outta jail? I sort of wish he was in normal clothes this time around, but oh well. Fighting games will never forgo character selection for storyline. They might as well just not have a story, to be honest.

As for Charlie, the man was dead at the end of Alpha 1, wasn't he? Then he came back for A2, A3, and all those Marvel games.

I want those days back (creativity in gaming) but not like Capcom's old tricks (re-release and add few characters each time............:):spock::angry:

C'mon. Look at what they're adding to this installment. Well worth the $40 price tag.

To answer the earlier question, meaty properties haven't changed. Caleb is saying what Killian did. Its still SFIV. I think I'll dig it though, because I liked SFIV, just had issues with minor things that really piss me off. The speed increase for me is the best thing about SSFIV.

That's what I'm saying. There is no regard for story or continuity so it really doesn't matter if Charlie is in the game.

That is why SF3 was great, it actually put some measure of time into the game.

Charlie was a cool design, but an awful character to play with. If they ever do bring him back I'd like for him to be worth a damn.

Charlie is actually one of my favorite capcom characters.

In Alpha 2 he was a killer character with a very structured beastly game, he had all the pokes needed for effective anti air's, and his wk flash kick was a great anti air.

His standing sMP was a great stuff poke meaty semi anti. His inch in sRH was godlike for closing the gap, and of course his fwdFP, and hell, even standing FP. *I love Guiles sFP in SFIV more actually* He also had a great cc.. You put real time into alpha 2, I suggest using Charlie for a good few days and you'll quickly see how good he is with a little work. He becomes a character to where if you follow his gameplan, you can literally meaty and poke the shit out of people if they mess up zones, or set up really bizarre pressure strings. IMO, A2 had the greatest pressure strings of any SF.. Charlie will make anyone a A2 fan.

Charlie also had some fucked up combos, and one of the things I am mad about is that Guile doesn't have that rush combo super that charlie was a beast with. It would give guile the edge to be more offensive in tight spots, because unfortunately for some damn reason Guile can link a bunch of normals that follow to NOTHING.

Charlie could literally cross you up with jMK, cWK, cWK, super and it'd be totally worth it, small easy confirm combo. If it was a corner, he could follow with a very small window flash kick super. If he ever became a character in super, I'd be so psyched, I'd go right outside and beat up someones parents. Then I'd serve a jail sentence dreaming of charlie. <3

I'm gonna have to assume that Wes just doesn't know the SECRET OF CHARLES in Alpha2.

That man is a beast.

Nostalgia moment: This is back before internet info or anything, but I'll never forget when I walked into my favorite arcade and saw Alpha 1. Never knew it was being made, but sure enough! There it was. Then I saw Charlie, and being a huge NERD for Street Fighter, I knew exactly who he was, I was in love. Awesome idea to bring him into the Street Fighter world. Gameplay be damned, I just liked his character for who he was, not how he played. With that said, I was never great at using him. Didn't stop me, however.

Guile > Charlie

I'm gonna have to assume that Wes just doesn't know the SECRET OF CHARLES in Alpha2.

That man is a beast.

When you're as good with Guile as Wes is, who cares about Charlie.

If I didn't know you from years on here, I'd swear you had pickle sniffing man-love for charlie.

The best Charlie still loses hard to the top tiers. He simply can't compete. Ken will zone him all day with ease. It's really not worth playing him unless you're just doing it for shits, and if I'm playing like that I'll have more fun with Adon.

Day one purchase for me, and I'll probably brake the bank and buy and tournament stick for it too.

Can't wait to try out Cody and Guy! Dudley too!

Didn't really know which of the old SSFIV threads I should bump, so I went with this.

But lookie what Jeff Gerstmann from Giant Bomb got in the mail.

So with this glove and the throwing knife in that one picture it's pretty certain that Dudley and Ibuki will be in the game.
