I'm not sure if it was in this thread, or the one in online, but thanks to whoever told me I was doing the triangle charge too fast. I could never get the hang of doing them since Vega in ST. But now I'm getting it down pat and I can pull it off almost 100% of the time.

I'm really loving Blanka's Shout of Earth Ultra. A lot of people don't know what the hell it is, because I rarely see other Blanka's online. The ground one is the shit for dealing with shotos that just want to pelt you with fireballs, even though their all the way across the screen, I'll zap em'. I had one guy using Cody that all he did was jump at me and go into the low jab and Criminal Upper, so when I had my meeter up, I did the anti-air version and destroyed him.

Also, I posted that link about the arcade version being "The definitive version of the game" well that part got taken down off of Coinexpress. Makes me wonder if they told em' to shut up or the arcade version's going to just be a straight port of the home version.

There have been rampant rumors about five additional chars in the arcade that WILL make it to SSFIV console as DLC. It's such an easy way for Capcom to wring some more dough out of this that it would absolutely baffle me if it wasn't true.

Well, I seem to recall Ono stating that there will be no more packaged releases of SF4, so I expect DLC will be how they do updates from here on out. And hey, five new characters and possible new moves plus engine tweaks would easily be worth an extra $20, I'd say.

The most I'm willing to get raped for is 10$. And I usually don't buy DLC, if ever.

Unfortunately, I will buy everything that's ever released for SSF4 via DLC.

You wouldn't spend twenty bones for the functional equivalent of SF4's next iteration? What if it included new stages and music?

If it is the next iteration, then yes, 20 seems fine. If it's an update that only include five new characters, I think 10 is more fair.

Then again, Capcom wanted 4 dollars for each costume back at one point, so I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being 20 or more.

I suppose it all depends on who or what the new characters are.

As it stands, I've barely scratched the surface of what's available in SF4, let alone SSF4. If it's a matter of me running into characters I don't have access to online, then fine, I'll live with it.

I never even unlocked all the characters in SF4, so no big loss.

Jesus, 40 dollars for SSF4 seemed like such a deal..I guess that won't be the case in the end...

I'm pretty sure it was $4 for four costumes. Still seriously overpriced, but noteworthy.

But I'd have to agree that who's included would make a big difference in whether or not I'd be willing to shell out. I don't know about anyone else, but if the five characters were all drawn from SFA, I'd personally hang onto my money. If it were two newbies and three SF3 alums, though... that would be a different story.

Guys, there is no SF4 DLC. Everything is just unlockable if you spend more money...

Why can't we hack the shit out of these games yet? Fucking gamesharks, where are they?

The rumor was Yun, Yang, Shadow Charlie, Evil Ryu, and Shin Gouki.
I'd gladly trade Shin Gouki or Evil Ryu for Elena, Oro, Rolento, or Sodom.

Ugg, I hope that's not true. I'd take Yun and Yang, but we don't need boss versions of Akuma and Ryu. I had heard that Ono-San really wanted R.Minka in the roster, same for Rolento. I would really like to see them dip into their back catalog of fighters and bring somebody back that hasn't been seen in years. Or maybe another crossover character from another Capcom series, that would fit in the game like the Final Fight characters. Not somebody like Dante that's more over the top.

Which is the way to go anyway. You know if you don't spend it on SF4 you'll spend it on something else. I shouldn't be surprised that there are people getting their panties all twisted up in a nut over the DLC or anything for that matter.

I just can't stand cheapstakes man, that's just so fucked up. These same people complainting will spend the miserable 20 bucks on a freaking McDonalds munching spree, so really where is all the BS coming from? Either spend the time and unlock everything or buy it, do what you want but spare me from all that "OMFG 30 bucks for 4 new characters is a crime!" Of all places heree where we know video games can be costly and we're or should be used to it.

Nobody is ever happy about anything, oh well, to each its own.

Bleah. Yun and Yang aren't so bad, but modifications of existing characters aren't worthy of a character slot. How about Oro, Necro and a tourney-worthy Gill? Or better yet, a tourney-worthy Twelve?

capcom will NEVER release something as DLC that will go against fighting game logic, you will never ever have the option of buying a character and using that character against people that haven't bought it.

if you bought super and don't wanna pay any money you will miss out on nothing gameplay wise. Its a complete game from day one and will remain a complete game.

if the arcade version has new characters they will need a whole new game mode if they put them on the console version afterwards.

Say what you will about capcom being greedy, they still know how fighting games work and won't destroy their delicate balance with silly DLC shit.

Ugh that sucks if true.

I'd love to see Rolento, Q, Poison, and a couple new additions...one namely a hung gar practicioner. I'd sell my soul for that. Call him Fei Hung.

edit: I don't mind Yun or Yang being included. But Shadow Charlie, Evil Ryu, and Shin Gouki are just cop outs.

I've heard that Ono was super partial to Rolento and wanted him in this game (gee, think the guy likes Final Fight much?), but they vetoed it. He did say that you'd likely see Hugo before Rolento.

Put Rolento and Sodom in there for sure, if you ask me. Oro would be a cool add, and for an extra 3 character, I'd go with Elena. Round it out with Birdie. Them's my choices.

But the list you proposed is more likely. The characters would likely just be skins with modified move sets from what we already see, except for Yun and Yang who would probably borrow heavily from Gen with a few mods to gameplay.

On that note, I apologize to LWK, Wasabi and galfordo. I really wanted to stick around but I gotta get to work early tomorrow for training on new product. I'm sorry I had to duck out. I really should be in bed already lol.

Again, thanks for the matches. Every opportunity to get better is appreciated, as well as face comp that pushes me. /bow

I'm going to have to agree with this. I don't think Capcom would do something like that either. All the DLC shit you are offered is always superfluous crap that you could easily do without. Having characters as DLC would be a huge breakthrough in the gaming realm, as to his point...your purchased game would no longer be complete without these downloads. There is no way that this would be allowed, and if it were, I fear for the future of gaming. Soon, games will start to DLC lockdowns for parts of the completed disc on your critical pathways...you wanna play the last level? That'll be 400 points. That is pretty much the essence of this proposition. Not happenin'!

But to play around on the subject, I would love to see Geki made into a character to rival with Ibuki and Guy. Also, Rolento would be amazing. It seems that Alex would be a no brainer since he and Abel are cut from the same cloth but I didn't see anyone mention him. Gawd, he was supposed to be the star of the 3 series and he just dropped without being noticed. Karin seems like see would fit in greatly with the reversals, customs (Feng Shui Engine) and rekkas.

I don't get why you guys would like Yun and Yang. They are both essentially Rufus, and does Super really need another damn divekicker in the mix, let alone two?

Adding new characters via DLC isn't really any different than new multiplayer maps in an FPS. Basic engine tweaks and such would likely be done by a pure patch, but iteration upgrades could easily be handled by way of matchmaking. You only get matched against other players with the same version.

Super really need another damn divekicker in the mix, let alone two?

Does any game need more than one Shototype? ;P Let alone three or four or five?

Sure you would. If you're playing online, it's just like any other update you would have to download before you played online. It's just a matter if you've purchased the update or not, that you have access to play the new characters. If not, then you can still play against others, because you downloaded the update.

Yun and Yang are some of the coolest capcom characters to ever come around. And WTF do you mean they are essentially Rufus?

Dive kicking is pretty strong in SF4. Last thing you'd want is more characters that can do it.
