On a side note, is there a way to create a private ranked match with friends, versus random people online?.

Unfortunately, no. Best you can do is have a friend or yourself host a ranked match room, and hit the randomizer till you find them.

Or you can go to custom and choose which rank match you part take in. Best bet if you want to play rank against a buddy

Just got done getting beaten up a bunch by LWK. He's a really great player that showed me a lot about the deficiencies in my game. I don't know that I'll ever be able to match him but he definitely helped me to see what I need to do to get better. His execution is perfect and he knows how to get in your head.

Despite the fact that I lost a ton, I had a really great time. As Ryu might say, 'the fight is all.'

Thanks again, LWK. Hope we can do it again soon.

Hey dude keep at it. I suggest never using Guile's crouching roundhouse. I was trying to show that its a habit that leads to free openings. More towards the end I think you learned that lesson.

Almost any ultra or move will connect free after the impact of the first crouching kick of it. Its really unsafe in this series. In Guile mirrors, or any charge fbf ultra motion, he gets eaten instant, because you can just react to it.

It takes a little practice to get down, if you time it perfectly, you can focus attack impact him before the second low kick even touches.

Yeah, definitely. It's not bad to use against mid and low tier players, but against a guy that really knows what he's doing, it's just asking to be punished.

Yeah. I think Guile is my strongest character, but SF IV has some systems I've never really been able to embrace, such as FADC.

I still think I'm better than what you saw tonight, but there's no denying I have to keep working to get better. For one thing, I have to settle down. My blood was really racing at facing strong competition and I got a bit too excited. I really enjoy being pushed to my limits and you're one of the best players I've ever faced online. My hat's off to you and I'm gonna keep working to get better.

Yeah, I think that's more about me just settling down. It would have helped if we were talking during the matches. Do you use a mic or anything? I wonder if a standard USB headset will work.

Thank you again so much. As I said, I think I'm better than what you saw tonight, but there's no denying I have a lot of rust to shake off and a lof of SF IV systems to grasp. I really hope you'll be willing to face me again at some point.

Wasabi, I missed you by 15 minutes, man. So sorry about that. Another time, perhaps.

Guy

I have been trying to play with Guy and lose about 90% of my fights with him. Are there any tactics or combos that anyone can share? Any Combos that will go into an ultra?

Man, since those fights with LWK last night, all I can think about is playing SSF IV again. Those were some pulse pounding matches. Seeing a great player like him do his thing is always a great and enlightening experience. Seeing his play style really opened my eyes to what can be done in this game, and also of how amazing all that gameplay potential looks when put to use. It's the kind of thing that makes me want to get better.

Good times:)

i'm willing to do more games.

I get sort of bummed playing online at times because I tend to miss crucial combos with Cody, and I need to hit confirm more with him, because if I stick FP criminal upper out there when cMP doesn't connect, I'm brown bread.

Hey guys. I'm sorr y about tonight. I'm playing @ a friends house and I swear his connection has to be the shittiest one one the planet. My commands were all coming out late. Throw break attempts were coming out as wake up throws which were constantly getting jumped and then thrown. I couldn't land links, I couldn't 2 in 1, I just played like straight ass bc of the bad connection.

LWK, Hawkingbird....I will hit you guys up when I get home on my connection.

GGs tho.

Yeah man, that connection is hot garbage.

It didnt seem that bad at first though.

BTW all, I'll be using dhalsim, guile, cody, and my old main rog as my mains. I can use other characters, but I adapt a lot better with dhalsim, guile and rog, and cody is in the training room right now.

Rose's English voice has to be the worst dub I've heard in ten years.

I thought we were past COMPLETELY shitty voices.

Thanks for the matches earlier, Wasabi. They were a lot of fun. Hope we can figut it out again some time.

I wanna try RE 5 with you some time, too.

I need a mic bad. I wonder if a standard USB mic will work for PS3. Guess next time I play, I'll plug it in and see what happens (probably nothing.)

pretty sure a generic usb headset will indeed work, as will a generic bluetooth headset :)

Thanks, man.

I hate not being able to talk to people when we're playing. It feels so cold and impersonal, and I really liked the arcade scene. This is as close as I'm going to come to it. I'm not a trash talker, though. I'm actually pretty grateful to fight others who push my limits, so you'll likely hear a lot of cursing out of me at my own fuck ups followed by a compliment for the other player:)

It just takes me back to when we all had respect for one another in the arcades.

I think I need to get either a T.E. stick or mod my S.E. stick. With the S.E. in OEM build, I whiff a lot of moves and it pisses me off. It's a poor artist that blames his paintbrush, I know, but I HATE when I try to do a Flash Kick or a Charge Ultra and I end up jumping or jabbing:/

The arcade version of SSFIV is now available for preorder at Coinopexpress.

http://coinopexpress.com/products/m...er_Street_Fighter_IV_arcade_machine_8282.html

Some of you guys might not care, don't blame ya if you don't have a place that can import it, but it says this in the description...

"The Windows version of Street Fighter IV includes all the features found in the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, plus some extras, which Capcom representatives say could make it "the definitive version" of the game."

The game sounds like it's getting a late summer or fall release. I guess we'll have to wait and see what will be added into the arcade version. And if Capcom will make it DLC for the home version.
