Hi everyone,

I want to get such a devise soon, but I'm not sure which one I should get, therefor I have a few question: :help:

- What's the difference between a Super Gun and a Sigma?
- I saw that it's possible to connect Neogeo Stick on a Super Gun, is it the same with the Sigma?
- I want to get an Atomiswave board in the future, does it work with both?
- I'm also interested on Shmups from Cave and Raizing, which board do I need to play those games?

Thanks very much for the help! :)

1. Supergun is the generic name devices used to play arcade boards in a TV have. A Sigma is a Japanese-made model of supergun

2. Most superguns build by "non-professionals" accept Neo Geo controllers. I don't know about the Sigma, I think it doesn't.

3. AW should work with any Jamma compatible supergun as long as it is correctly wired, specially the 5 buttons.

4. They have used many different arcade boards, check www.system16.com . I think most latest Cave shooters are on PGM. Remember that most of this shooters are vertical only and you would need to turn your TV.

Finally, if your TV accepts RGB through scart I would suggest you get a supergun that only outputs RGB through scart, picture is much better and the supergun is cheaper to be made this way.

That means I have to connect a joystick who has more buttons than a Neogeo stick? Like for example a PS2 Hori stick with the neogeo converter?

Isn't there a possibility to play it with bars on both sides?

Thanks for the infos guys! :)

The converter will only convert 4 action buttons as on Neo sticks, the extra buttons will not work.

No, that wouldn't make sense in the arcades and these are arcade games.

Then, what's the solution for the Atomiswave games?

Well, most AW games don't need 5 buttons, but for obvious reasons you'll need 5 buttons if you want to correctly play 5 buttons games. Notice that you might be able to use the select button of a Neo Geo stick as 5th button. The solution is to use a controller with at least 5 buttons, such as a DC stick (easy to be modded for using it in a supergun), MAS stick, home made stick, etc.
The Neo Geo converter doesn't work very well in superguns, and anyway it won't give you more buttons than the Neo Geo has.

The only way to play vertical arcade games horizontally with bars is using an emulator.
