You heard right...

sf2-2600A.gif

Naturally, the controls are a bit awkward since it uses just one button. You get to use two strengths of attack ala Art of Fighting 2 (tap button for a Jab/Short, press it for Fierce/ Roundhouse).

All the moves are in thanks to it being a 32K cart. I honestly didn't think it'd look this good on 2600.

I bought this cart from Ralf Piolo for the kingly sum of $401. Looking for buried Atari 2600 carts? Just ask Ralf... if he doesn't have it, it probably doesn't exist.

Oh my God! Will there be a sequel? Hell, while you're at it, why not release Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam?

It may be a joke... haha, but I have actually seen similar NES and such bootleg games on ebay. Like SF2 for NES, and Super Rumble on NES with KOF/SF2/Sonic/Mario/Ninja Turtles/etc all in a fighter... I even posted it here a long time ago when it was up... haha, people actually make this stuff *(and I am sure it plays like pooh, but) and people actually buy it for lots of money. I think that if this game was real, you probably could get a few hundred for it on ebay, and that is very scary :)

This would be freaky if it were real.

Mortal Kombat on 2600? Hmmm... I'll think of doing a fakie shot or two for that one sometime. Oughta be interesting.

Now one thing that is frightening would be the Commodore 64 version of SFII. It looks even worse than my 2600 mock-up.

For the record, I've also seen pictures of the NES SFII (it was in a video game mag back in the day).

So have I... I think it was Gamefan. They had a section for all of the strange stuff.

I liked the World Heroes for NES I saw a while back ago, featuring characters from World Heroes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Street Fighter II, Mario, Bowser, and friends.

Looked like fun, but not for $250...

Later,

OK... NeoLord, thanks for the idea. :) Here's one for NBA JAM T.E. where the characters are blocky since they scale. Check this out.

It was my pleasure, Jackal! I think we should go into business together porting old arcade machines to the Atari 2600. You can be the artist, my buddy can be the programmer, and I'll be the sound director and PR.

Holy crap! I'd buy that for a dollar! Hey, Jackal -- we're waiting for Mortal Kombat, too! lol
