So I pulled out the Xbox and loaded up Coinops, I started messing around with some of the games and stumbled across a CPS1 version of Street Fighter Alpha. From what I can gather it was a CPS Changer game and wasn't seen often. I played it and minus some background layered scrolling, I found a very well done version of Alpha. Does anyone here own this game? I'm curious as to how much one of these would cost, if you haven't played I recommend finding a way to at least play it and see what the CPS1 pulled off. The music sounds a little different but has it's own sound for sure.

It was the last CPS changer game and the most expensive one, so it's pretty rare.

A friend of mine owns all the Capcom carts including that Alpha port, it has FM only music and some frames of animation have been cut, we used to play it using SNES pads because the Capcom supergun that comes with those games has 2 SNES controller ports, albeit it came bundled with 2 Capcom arcade sticks, nobody wanted to use them because of the square gate which felt awkward back then, this was way back before all of the "japanese arcade stick craze".

That's one terrible port. The SNES version of SFA2 kept me from trying any of the alpha series for years.

Anyways, the novelty of CPS1 Alpha is awesome.

A few days ago I was playing my Saturn port of Zero 1 and was thinking about the CPS Changer version.

I rather like the CPS1 versions of the music, some more than those on CPS2.
