Just a really dumb question:

in ss64 1 & 2 do they have those CD combos from SS4 or something similar to those Mk3 dial-up combos, or are they just pre-programed combos that come off of some rage explosion.....

both have the sam4 style "14 hit" combos, but they work a bit differently in each game. if i remember correctly, in ss64 it was CD, AAAAABBBBBBB.... warrior's rage went back to the CD, AABBCCABCC format. the trick in warrior's rage was that you could "parry" a blocked cd combo giving yourself an opening to counter attack. there is some leniency in warrior's rage to cancel into specials, but i haven't played with it a whole lot.

overall, both games employ tekken-esque air juggles and combos. standing B into special/super usually works well too, similar to samV on mvs.

hope that's what you were looking for!

i really need to break these two games out again soon, it's been a good while since i played either of them.

Yessssss that's exactly what I wanted to hear....the more info I get on this game, the sweeter it sounds...just needs to finds a place that offers the rev 2 HNG setup w. games at a reasonable price

Seen Jeff F. @ Vektorlogic selling the mobo with three games on eBay for 100 GBP or 185 $ US (240 cdn) which is a sweet freakin' deal...even if it were rev 1 boards and the K-rean version of SS64 that's pretty good...

So....would Jeff Ferriar be the way to go on this one?

do some research on vecktorlogic (sp) before you buy, but most people have had good experiences with them aside from returning emails...

I have bought from them before and it went well for me. Some of the board members have had a few problems in the past, but they all seemed to work out in the end.

Here's a simple explanation of the CD combos in SS64. I took this off my Nakoruru mini FAQ for SS64 that I submitted to samuraispirits.net

This explanation works for all characters but bear in mind that some characters have extra CD combos. Also, the detailed description of each of the hits applies to Nakoruru only.

----------------------------------------------------------------
CD Combos

Here's the basic button press system for the CD combos.

CD, 2, 3, 4, 5, pause, 6, 7, 8, 9, pause, 10, 11, finish
|---Group 1---| |--Group 2--| |---Group 3---|

Group 1:
CD, A, A, A, A = Combo start slash, jab, jab, jab, jab
or
CD, B, B, B, B = Combo start slash, spin slash, spin slash, spin slash,
spin slash

Group 2:
A, A, A, A = up slash, up slash, up slash, up slash
or
B, B, B, B = low slash, low slash, low slash, low slash

Group 3:
A, A, A = mid slash, mid slash, flip kick
or
B, B, B = low slash, low slash, Annu Mutsube

In all you have 8 different combo possibilites. Here they are.

CD, AAAA, AAAA, AAA
CD, AAAA, AAAA, BBB
CD, AAAA, BBBB, BBB
CD, AAAA, BBBB, AAA
CD, BBBB, BBBB, BBB
CD, BBBB, BBBB, AAA
CD, BBBB, AAAA, AAA
CD, BBBB, AAAA, BBB

Notes:

CD Combos cannot be mixed up ABAB, BABA, ABA or something else like that.

CD Combos can be broken at the pauses if your opponent guesses which button
(A or B) your are gonna press next correctly by pressing that same button on
his/her control pad. If he/she guesses correctly, you'll be momentarily
stunned allowing your opponent to nail you.

CD Combos drain your stamina and can only be started when your stamina gauge
is a yellow color.

If you press CD to activate the combo but miss, you will still be flashing
showing you are in combo mode. Press CD again to cancel the combo system.
