Lightning live another day! Back home to Tampa to try to extend the series again. Vasilevskiy get into a good rhythm and was solid in net. Hagel has been a nice pickup for the Bolts, dude is always hustling.

Azerbaijani GP quali this morning…tons of red flags, people smashing out left and right. These city street courses have some one hit and you are dead chicanes and turns.

Trying to not be a fair weather fan; however, Haas is 17 & 18th ugh.

This race is going to be interesting.

What would be more embarrassing? #1 Bucks losing to #8 Heat in 5 games or the #1 Avalanche losing to WC#1 Kraken, an expansion team.

Makar got a fucking bogus one game suspension today. It was a 2 minute minor interference penalty.

Rumors are that Val Nichushkin is having substance abuse issues and that's why he's away from the team. Awful if true. He played the Stanley Cup last year on a broken foot and has spent most of this season dealing with lingering related issues. Probably got hooked on painkillers and/or booze as pain management.
Avs quiet about Nichushkin's absence after police report

The Colorado Avalanche did not comment Friday on either the status of forward Valeri Nichushkin, who has been away from the team for a few days, or on a police report about an incident at the team hotel in Seattle last weekend.

Colorado coach Jared Bednar again said Friday that Nichushkin is away from the team for personal reasons. Asked later if Nichushkin was not with the Avs because of a violation of team rules, Bednar again reiterated the personal reasons.

“It’s not a professional decision. It’s a personal decision why he’s not here,” Bednar said before the Avalanche faced the Kraken in Game 6 of their first-round series, which Seattle leads 3-2.

“Next one,” Avs forward Mikko Rantanen said when asked about Nichushkin.

A message sent to agents representing Nichushkin seeking comment was not immediately returned.

Nichushkin has not played since Game 2, on April 20, when he scored a goal in Colorado’s 3-2 victory. Bednar announced last Saturday that Nichushkin didn’t participate in morning skate before Game 3 due to a maintenance day. After the game, Bednar said Nichuskin would be away from the team for personal reasons.

Officers responded to a crisis call at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seattle at 3:44 p.m. PDT on the afternoon of Game 3, according to a report from the Seattle Police Department obtained Friday by The Associated Press.

A 28-year-old woman was in an ambulance when officers arrived, and medics were told to speak with Avalanche team physician Dr. Bradley Changstrom to gather more details.

According to the report, Changstrom told officers that team employees found the woman when they were checking in on Nichushkin. Changstrom told officers the woman appeared to be heavily intoxicated, was too intoxicated to have left the hotel “in a ride share or cab service,” and requested EMS assistance.

Changstrom said the woman hit him but he did not want to press charges, the report said.

When approached in the ambulance by officers, the woman stated she was from Russia but born in Ukraine. She was transported to Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, according to the report.

Nichushkin, who is from Chelyabinsk, Russia, is in his fourth season with the Avalanche and eighth season in the NHL.

Avs are missing their two best two-way wingers in Valeri Nichushkin and captain Gabe Landeskog. It would be like taking Draisaitl and Kane off the Oilers and expecting them to win.

Cogliano out indefinitely with fracture in neck

Colorado Avalanche forward Andrew Cogliano suffered a fracture in his neck during Game 6 in Seattle on Friday, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press.

Cogliano is sidelined indefinitely, according to the person who spoke to the AP on Saturday night on condition of anonymity because the team has not announced the injury.

Cogliano was hit into the boards from behind by Kraken forward Jordan Eberle. He went to the locker room as Eberle served a penalty for boarding.

Cogliano later returned to a game that Colorado won 4-1 to tie the first-round series at 3-3. Game 7 is Sunday in Denver.

Eberle was not given a hearing for supplemental discipline. Colorado saw defenseman Cale Makar suspended for Game 5 after his hit on Jared McCann.

Sportsnet first reported Cogliano’s injury and status that he’s out indefinitely.

The 35-year-old Cogliano was an instrumental piece in the franchise's third Stanley Cup championship last season. He brings grit, tenacity and experience to the ice for the banged-up Avalanche. His 120 career playoff games are the most of any current Avalanche player.

Colorado is already without captain Gabriel Landeskog, who has been sidelined all season after knee surgery. They're also missing Valeri Nichushkin for personal reasons. Nichushkin has not played since Game 2, on April 20, when he scored in Colorado’s 3-2 victory.

Maple Leafs advance to the second round with a 2-1 win over Tampa Bay. This is the first time since 2004 that Toronto made it out of the first round. Rangers beat Devils to force a Game 7. Oilers are trying to put out the Kings tonight to avoid a Game 7.

Tomorrow, Boston and Colorado play Game 7 of their respectful series against Florida and Seattle.

That was a ridiculously dirty hit on Cogliano and the stupid NHL didn't even review it for a possible suspension.

135 points in the regular season don't mean squat in the playoffs as Boston is ousted by Florida 4-3 OT to win the series 4-3. Bruins had a lead with a minute to go in regulation, then gave up the tying goal, then scored the winning goal at 8:35 in the OT.

Great game. It was a must watch for me. Always cool to see a under dog team win. Although Boston had the lead until the end of the 3rd period, I thought the Panthers played better. They were the faster team and had better scoring opportunities.

So the #8 seeds from Florida (Panthers/NHL and Heat/NBA) take out the top teams in their respectful leagues. Simply amazing. Next up for the Panthers are the Maple Leafs.

Leafs celebrated too hard with their win over the Lightning. Maybe making it past the first round was their Stanley Cup Finals.

Florida Panthers go back to Sunrise with a 2-0 lead in their best of 7 with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Really hoping my Knights beat the Oilers.

I went to a home game here against them a few months back and their fans are like the Raiders of hockey. Utterly obnoxious, rude, and poor sports.

Yeah I admit I tend to like the Flames more than the Oilers.

My wife is a huge Oilers fan, out of nowhere. She's from Tucson, just picked a hockey team before this season started, and is now the fan that screams at the tv during the games, lol. She wanted to skip my kid's school recital last night to stay home and watch the game, and i caught her checking espn on her phone multiple times during the show. (Yeah, she was recording it, but couldn't take not knowing what was going on, lol) She probably watched 90% of their games this season too. Never thought I'd be sick of having hockey on in the house, haha! Still better than the subtitled K-dramas she was watching before this.
