Spend more time working on or playing your cabs?

Well,

I guess this question only applies if you have multiple cabs but do you guys generally spend more time actually playing your cabs or just working on them and making em perfect.

For me I usually spend more time in my arcade just working on stuff. All my cabs are 100 percent working but I still find little things I want to do to them.

Also, how much time do you spend arcade gaming relative to console?

I bought a PS3 over a week and a half ago and have only played it for about 3 hours...however I have spend around six to eight hours in the arcade room working on stuff and playing.

Well, I definitely spend quite a bit of time working on the cabs, but I also try and make sure I am using them and playing them, to balance the time I spend fixing and cleaning em. As far as console time, I definitely spend 3x to 4x as much time with the cabs then I do the console. I wish there was a way to network game with a neo that would be super bad ass!!

Last night was more work than usual.

Monitor adjustments switching vert games, lost 1P A button on the neo candy, still F'in around with that MK conversion.

I felt like a Tilt employee last night.

I've spent more than my fair share of time working on my cabs, but I definitely play them a lot. I do most my major tweaks on them within the first few months of getting them, and the rest of the time is playing them, cleaning them up from time to time, and I always do minor calibration adjustments every time I change games. The normal routine I guess. :)

I play once in a while. As of right now, I'm ordering tons of parts for my cabinets so I can fix 'em just right.

If you think that Arcades are bad... Just buy a Snomobile..

YOu really do spend more time working on them than enjoying them... And they dont look nearly as cool in your living room.

Don't put some crap like Magical Drop or Bust A move in there... YOu will be glad that you got it like you do.

I spend more time playing them. Well, it, as in my big red. There is a lot of work I need to do that I've been pretty lax about. I actually have 2 cabs (well have bought 2) but the other one has yet to show up. Its a Neo Candy 25 and should be fucking great in all respects. Hopefully it won't need much work, but things always come up somehow.

As far as consoles to arcades ratio, I probably spend twice as much time playing my Sega Saturn than I do my Neo Geo. This of course varies with the times, sometimes I play a shitload of Neo and Saturn gets left out.

I spend more time playing then anything else lately. I have not had to do any major work on my cabinets in some time besides rewiring and cleaning. My egret 2 comes on daily as that is home to my third strike and we have weekly (usually) tournaments with about 10-20 people each time. Having that many people makes me nervous because there is a higher probability of problems arising but so far everyone has been behaved.

Not too much console playing these days since I finished Okami, but that will soon change when the next big batch of anticipated games drops.

Alec; glad to hear you got yourself a candy man! Offer is still open at my place anytime you want.

I spend most time messing with the cabs and boardsets, have a stack of faulty boards from my freindly arcade vendor which I plug away at.

Hardly ever play, usually when freinds come around, thats all.

I spend more time working on it than playing :(

I dunno why, I just can't motivate myself to play the cab or MVS.

its wierd, you dream of a cab all your life, and then .. nothing

I hear ya man. For me, I'd fire them up way more if I had a steady crew of friends coming over to play. With my work schedule + wife + 2 year old + 1 more bairn on the way....that just aint happening. Games aren't that much fun solo. Only game thats kept me playing is Robotron 2084. I can keep trying for score + the games are short and sweet.

Just got myself a dedicated MVS cab. So far its been 50/50 work and play. The first slot on the 4 slot motherboard has crushed pin connections, and it's causing me a lot of headaches. :blow_top:
