I powered on my SF1 cabinet and everything was fine until the sound literally faded away. Now there is no sound at all.

Picture is fine, controls are fine. I checked the connections to the jamma harness and the speakers everything looks ok.

Has this happened to anyone before? Any ideas on what I should check or troubleshoot?

Well, I found the problem...sorta. I hooked up another CPS2 board set and it worked fine. Sound was good.

I put the original CPS2A board that had sound problems and attached SFA2 and it too had no sound.

So I think it might be the A-board.

Yes, your boards will work OK (with no sound) if the 12 volts is missing

edit: also some boardsets require the -5 volts to supply the audio op-amps, in that case no -5 = no sound
