Replaced him with a shorter louder version. That whole top row of fighters is familiar but not the same. (Well, there's Raphael I guess...)

Oh c'mon guys, stop feeling sad about Kilik, at least you can still use him and then with some luck he'll have the stick.

This game is phenomenal, you guys outta get it for the 360 so we can play!

I need an arcadestick, it is nearly impossible for me with a joypad. I am not good in general but with a joypad it is a complete disaster:crying:
I had to lower difficulty in storymode 3 times from the moment I got to Nightmare:emb:

SC5 is indeed harder than previous SC games. It also feels a lot more like 2D fighting in a way ... its still an 8 way run game but it does feel more 2D in a way

^ Very true, the new slide front/back is a great toola nd makes the pace faster. I also thin the game is harder in the timing of things, button presses have a smaller window than before but I think it's great 'cause it brings speed to the game like never before. I'm very pleased with this game.

I'm really suprised on the netcode for this game. I did not think namco had it in them, but it surpasses my excpectations by a lot. I'd love some games with some people from here if anybody would be willing.

I only have it on xbox at the moment. Handle is RuggeDDman (I play Cervy and Astroth mostly Cervy though) I'll be on tomorrow night and all day Sunday you can send me a message here or on live if you want to play at a specific time.

This is a long shot I know but gotta try. Hope to see someone.

Why surprised, brother? SCIV was just as good online and this is coming from my experience playing SCIV on PSN. I have SCV for XBL though.

I'd have to disagree with you on the SCIV online experience. I have it one 360 and had noticeable lag with most matches. SCV seems to be a bit of an improvement.

Haven't played SCIV on XBL just on PSN this time around and it played great with folks that had good connection with me like in SFIV they have them bars to show connectivity. SCV plays insanely good in XBL though. I was gonna get SCV for the PS3 'cause most of my namco fighters are on PS hardware but I changed my mind last minute 'cause XBL tends to have a better online experience, I'm surprised this wasn't the same for SCIV.

I just got this game on PS3. Not to complain too much, because I am happy I bought the game, but it is a lot different - Xiba is the new Kilik, and the single player game feels 'unfinished.' A lot of the moves I liked from IV are changed/gone. I thought IV was TERRIBLE online! I personally am not interested in learning how to play in slow-mo... call me old fashioned. Beat the story/unlocked everything & am workin on good combos in training. I haven't tried V online yet - hope its as good as everyone says.

My experience with SC4 was short lived. Only played it until T6br came out. All I remember was lots of mitsu fast lows on tons of lag. I've had tons of nearly lagless matches on SC5 with anybody 4+bars. I played on a 70"tv yesterday that felt laggier then some of my online matches. He probably had true motion and all that junk on but still it was ridiculous.

Namco Bandai said today that it will release a free title update for Soul Calibur V on the 21st. The update will add an in-game shop for purchasing future download content, and will also feature balance adjustments and improved Ranked Match matching.

The patched version of the game will be used in the SCV world tournament finals, which will be held in Las Vegas on April 10. A total of 10,000 US dollars in prizes is up for grabs for top players.

What do you folks think? Too little too late? Even on my friends list I see nobody playing the game. When I read this news on Soul Cali's Facebook wall almost all the comments were negative. My favorite one was somebody said why did they feel the need to have three mimic characters and axe characters like Amy and Taliem. I'm also not a fan of that they have one more unique character you have to pay five dollars to unlock if you didn't buy the game at a Best Buy.

They say over 240 changes to the gameplay system, but of course most of the video is to show off the moe' costumes for the girls.

It's funny how the influx of fighting games came and everybody got excited and quickly sick of them. With SCV I'm regretting getting it. I just didn't like it. I don't know why nothing can beat the fun of the first three games. (Soul Edge, Soul Cali 1 and 2) I played a couple of games with people online and the netcode was decent. But nobody on my friend's list plays it and I'm just more of a VF fan.

Maybe you got sick of it and that's probably 'cause you're mediocre at best when it comes to fighting games. So when you think about it, you're right but only 'cause I'm sure the casual fighting gamers share the same experience you did.

haha vicious, I was going to come in here and say "you guys know virtua fighter 5 FS is out right?" when I seen this thread bumped but I am glad I didn't.

I'm pretty sure VF5FS is not the more casual fighting gamer friendly game of the two though, just sayin.

so this post isin't a complete waste I gotta say soul calibur may not be my thing but the soundtrack is always bloody amazing....and they tend to design female characters who appeal to my taste in women more than most fighting games....
