It isn't inconceivable to start talking about the next SC in press releases. Namco usually switches between the Tekken series and SC series and since T5's arcade version has been done for about 7 months or so now I was waiting to hear something about SC3. I am kind of shocked they mentioned anything about a console release instead of sticking to arcade information though and am further surprised they aren't holding onto SC3 for the next gen systems. Maybe they are reserving that slot for a Tekken Tag 2.

I thought that Soul Caliber 3 was announced for SYSTEM 258 last year, which isn't nothing but a over clocked PS2.

An inside source has leaked that Soul Calibur 3 would get released on 10/2005 but namco said they cannot comment. Usualy they just deny, and they didn t ... maybe they just wanted to build the hype. However what was announced was GC/XBox and PS2 not PS2 only, and that was in late january.

But from a business standpoint, Namco made more money from the Xbox and Gamecube versions. It wouldn't make sense to cut their own throat by not offering it on other systems.
