Really glad people are giving R-type III a fair shake this month. Its a very good follow up to the series, even Leo is decent tho I don’t feel it’s a true R-type.

3 gives you some nice improvements with the option choices, and overall I think this R-type is forgiving in that when you die it’s not very difficult to power up quickly again.

Trying to 1CC it is a completely different beast, but it’s very beatable when using continues as all of the check points seem very well thought out….

Or maybe i’ve spent too long trying to beat arcade Gradius III, because if you die in that just restart the whole fucking game over again.

Holy shit this game. I had this for over a decade but never turned it on. This is hardcore but it always feels like your own fault what makes it even more aggravating. I have a few days of so I will try some more.

Agreed, it's a fantastic game, and one of the very best entries in the series, only flawed by one overlooked moment when you can milk a boss like crazy.
I used to 1cc it Ah well, 5 days left

I had been trying to find one locally for a year or so, then this one came along on facebook marketplace already RGB SCART modded so i had to snag it. Can’t believe how big of a difference the input type makes with these.
