There is a KoF98 version that is korean, and does not have the Japanese voices. Also, there is a version (AFAIK the carts with no protection) that have some bad language in the intro, that other carts do not have.

"SOLD" Damn, that was fast. For reference, is there any way to tell which carts are uncensored by the label or serial number or something? If you can;t tell unless you test the cart manually, this is going to be a pain to get later.

I have that uncensored version too (english label). Not sure it matters. Honestly I think there's a case to be made that the clean version is arguably better. The intro words sound garbled and does sound like they "might" be using bad language. I used to play on a censored version most of my life so when I bought my own copy and it had that uncensored version I was scratching my head cause I didn't remember that little passage in my teenage days.

Weird. All this time, and I didn't know there was a difference save for the Korean, no Japanese language one. I have the "uncensored" one too. It's in some weird, wine red colored cart case, but the boards are the real deal. It's too bad it's been relabeled, as I wanted to see if my serial numbers matched up with the range mentioned above.

It is a little quirky too. I can't nest the cart all the way into the slot. It has to be a touch short or the audio is jacked up.

Red carts are usually for Korean releases. Yours must've been re-cased at some point in its life

From my experience, you can tell if a cart is "uncensored" or not by looking at the PROG boards:

If it's a PROGBK1 (Sets 6 or 7), it's uncensored, if it's an SF1 (other sets), it's censored (or korean). At least that is my experience.

I've had tried so far the red, white, dark grey transparent and all of those had intro censorship.

In case anyone stumbles across this thread and gets the wrong idea, the "uncensored" version is not rare. Chances of randomly getting one is around 50/50 IMO.

As far as serial number, it is in the 000s, but he did say the label was replaced so...
