The developers responsible for Confrontation and the PSP games. I haven't played those games so I can't speak for their quality. From the info provided it seems like a new entry in the Outbreak series.

It's only a rumor so take that as you will.

I understand they target Leon as they received orders to kill any cops they come across but I found it odd they singled out Leon. Does Umbrella have a crystal ball now?

I started wondering about that myself, but I think it's just for the effect of "zomg look out, Leon". And it makes for a more interesting thing to show in a trailer than "Let's targe random R.P.D. officer #27". If they really wanted to get the fanbase's attention, they'd show Marvin Branagh. Granted, I'm sure continuity will be skewed as fuck in this game, so I won't pay much attention to that. I'm hoping they'll throw Claire and Jill into the mix, since they were all there with this whole event.

I always forget about the Outbreak games.

Dead Aim ended up being canon and that was filled with all kinds of dumb shit. They might not make everything about this game canon, but you can bet they'll try to make some of it fit.

Capcom could hold some kind of contest where they challenge fans of the series to make the RE "canon" stupider, offering up huge prizes or whatever, and I doubt anyone would be able to think up any ways to fuck it up worse than Capcom already has. If someone did think of a way to make it any worse, Capcom would probably offer them a job.

That said, the trailers for this look boring as fuck. The way the soldier characters slide around makes it look like we're watching a replay camera in a FPS. Framerate also seems low in what look to be the gameplay shots. Looks mediocre and dull.
