IIRC, there is 512 MB built in, and it is expandable using SD cards. You could reach 4 GB or so these days with one card.

her is a question i have never seen ask,,,,,,

probably 90% of people with HDTV's have a projection tv, lcd tv, etc...so at least 50% or so percent of house holds even if not hdtv has some sort of tv that falls into this catagory,,,,,

SO isnt the Wii remote pretty much like a light gun in lots of ways,,,,, How the hell is it gonna work on a lcd, projection, plasma, etc......So every one with new tv's are going to have to get old tube tv's

Just a thought, and someone probably should ask nintendo this before buying if you have a newr set up...

Has a sensor that it is in the front of the TV !!!

Interesting news, but I can't see how the wii controller will work on these sort of games.
A standard controller will definitely be available. And SNKP mentioned something about co-promotional opportunities with peripheral manufacturers in there MSAnthology flyer. Anyway, with all the old skool titles that are going to be available on the Wii, I'm putting PS3 and XBOX360 on the back burner for sure.

I don't know, I'm not completely sold on the Revolution (I refuse to call it Wii). I'll probably get it, just because I pretty much buy every console that comes out.

I wish SNK would release their games on Xbox Live. They can probably release
classics on both consoles, and make money on both consoles.

This is just my own speculation, but I think Nintendo and Microsoft are going to make their online networks compatible. Only for the emulation consoles, not for regular games. Again that is just a hunch I have.

Whats up with the wack controller. I smell failure. http://wii.nintendo.com/controller.html

There is no way any nintendo home console will ever fail. Sure they may not do as well in sales but they make top notch games. You don't need 50 games to be released a month. All you need is a mario, metroid, or zelda once every 6 months. And I don't know about anyone else here but I have never bought a nintendo product that has broke on me. However I have been through quite a few ps2, xbox, and turbo duo systems.

Nintendo is a top notch company that releases stuff that works and games worth playing.

with SNK behind the Wii, think that may be a good system to pick up.

but ps3 is getting Virtua fighter 5 exclusive most likely so its decisions decisions decisions :)

With the specs that all 3 of the next gen consoles have. They could easily make official emulations of all the Neo Geo games and you can just download them. Example: you know those X-box live arcade games for download, just do something like that and get charged or whatever. They can easily sneak in a few extra options and online features into it somehow. I think there is a market for that since it is kinda proven with TG-16 and older Nintendo systems on the Wii. Of course, this is just emulators all over again but atleast well supported if you pay. Also, instead they can just do the package releases like they are doing now, except for the shitty US support.

I think it'll be interesting as to what direction SNKP will go with the Wii as far as configuring new games with the controller and what not else. Obviously, expect rehashed releases of a lot of stuff, but that doesn't bother me as long as they stand up well on the system.

I could really see that happening, even if Herman isn't 100% legit SNK could easily offer NeoGeo titles (the newer ones might be too big) via VC and he did say that he was off to negotiate SNK's Nintendo titles in addition to the possibility of AES titles.

The Sega Saturn bit is new though, that would be awesome if it worked out.

buttrock indeed

I've been a Nintendo fan since I was a small boy. I bought nothing but Nintendo (and SNK) systems up through the Gamecube. But I often thought later in retrospect how much Nintendo lacked many of my favorite genre of games through recent years, fighting. The N64 was horrible for someone like me, with Capcom only producting scarce titles like "Mickey's Tetris" and SNK nowhere to be found. However, I stuck it through in hopes that the GC would redeem the sins of the father. But alas, aside from a few select titles, the PS2 and the Xbox were the recipients of most games I longed for.

The last straw for me with Nintendo came when I first saw the Wii's new controller. At that moment I vowed to only purchase the Xbox 360 and PS3. That was untill I discoverd the 360's and PS3's lack of backwards compatability for many of my favorite 2D games. This is when I began to dig deeper into their viscad. What's an SNK fan to do then? The future indeed looked bleak. But now there's hope on the horizon, Nintendo has won me back. SNK only for Nintendo? Downloadable classics from Nintendo, Sega and many others? A new controller suited to people like me? A significanly lower price tag? I'm sold, Sony and Microsoft can take their graphics and shove 'em.

Long live Nintendo :buttrock:

Remember how we had to blow in our NES to make it work?

That hardly counts as being broken. anyways, spending $3 can get you a brand new connector, and then if you clean your carts, they work better than new. They turn on for me first try, every try now.

Perhaps I'm just weird, but I always found that to be part of it's charm. ;) Sure as hell beat the russian roulette games you had to play with systems like the Spectrum when it came to getting games to work.

Fact is though, since the original Gameboy Nintendo has built their systems with a very high level of quality. I never hear about Gamecubes getting disc read errors, and we have very, very few returns on the Nintendo DS at my store, whereas PSP's break all the time.

Then again Who knows SNK could back log all there games for the Revolution. It might go against the will of god for that to happen, but I'm sure a lot of people would like it. Hell as Lame of an Idea that It is i would still pay money to see a full side story where Terry Bogard and Athena slug it out for the tital of SNK's mascot. Although I would prefer another it be with another SNK babe, but this a popularity contest here.:D

In conclusion,The Nintendo WII will be our savior.Nintendo has finallly seen the light and is going back to their roots. All hail the new emperor.2d gaming is back, Sony and microsoft will endure the pain of a thousand deaths once nintendo gets their system on those shelves in november.Victory lies within nintendo's grasp.I just wish Sega would do the same(dream).

No longer would we have to suffer pretty grafix with no fun factor, game play or no replay value. This time is round 3, and nintendo is packing up one hell of a punch!!

Unfortunately todays A.D.D gamers don't give a crap about beautiful 2D artwork. When I'm playing Neo games I not only am playing a game but looking at the beautiful artwork. Games like KOF series and Metal Slug are pure joy of gameplay. Plain and simple.
