MOTW (euro) is not part of the "Classic" series of inserts. IT is essentially one of the few OG SNK euro inserts that used an alternative backround that was a sold color vs the standard euro grey/gray. The main euro home cart releases that did this were AOF3 (white), KOF 96 (red), MOTW (Yellow) & I believe a few others but those were the big 3. Post OG SNK (meaning SNK Playmore) the euro version of Sengoku 3 did this with the black w/ multicolor backround.
This statement strikes me as a bit odd. There are many counterfeit inserts out there for many titles, howver, with MOTW (and I believe some other titles) there are near 1 to 1 SNK licensed proffesionaly made inserts that were made by the compant "Pix-n-Love" for their modern day releases that came in the re-pop snap lock cases. Those are not counterfeits, they are legit second run goods.

I have the slug 4 and the 3 KOF classic inserts. I don’t even remember how I came about getting them. I think some guy who I bought some games off from this forum just threw them in lol. I don’t even own Slug 4 and I have the cartridge label for that one too. None have them have ever even seen an SNK box, they are completely flat.

When the Neostore released the US Classic Inserts 20+ years ago, I bought 3 complete sets along with each AES English game.
Just before they were sold out on the Neostore, I bought 4 more complete US Classic Insert sets.
One set was for my complete Neo Geo AES Library, and the last 3 sets were stored flat with the cart stickers unapplied (NOS).
Back then, we didn't know what the print run was. I was guessing maybe 200-300 per set.
But, with only 100 made, these are extremely rare...

What a fucking waste.
It's unfortunate, although understandable, that AES carts were not manufactured in any sizeable quantity, especially the later stuff, which is of questionable quality anyway (the gameplay that is).
But to know some loon with far more money than sense is hoarding these things is just criminal. A real shame.

Triples makes it safe with games too: one to play, one as backup, and one more in case your backup becomes your primary. Triples is best.

Maybe if you hadn’t called them ‘corrected’ inserts and encouraged people to destroy their originals, this could have been a fun collector thing. Instead you had NGF plastered everywhere like you
A) invented the name and
B) were an official SNK rep.
What actually happened with KOF2000 … did you guys pull the original SNK inserts and replace them with your own?

I look forward to a reply from Chris but from what I understand they got a shipment of JPN carts from SNK and fan changed the label, insert and manual - except unlike their usual exploits they apparently had SNK’s blessing to do this for KOF 2000 - as this came out in court documents later on.

Yeah, but I always felt that was more of a "just say whatever so they can fuck off" settlement, it still ended with them basically shutting down for good.
I think most people still consider US KOF2000 to be bootleg ... but I guess that hasn't stopped prices from climbing:
