I have an account but don't really use it.

Did you upgrade to the new ipad with the latest version of the skype app? Some people complained about the app and i'm not sure if i should update or not.

Skype is awesome for making very cheap international calls from a wifi hotspot. I use it whenever I travel.

actually gmail is way better to make calls to the US for free from other countries.

I still love skype and use it every day, but it's so 5 years ago. These days with smart phones I'm putting in a lot more time on Viber and Kakao Talk. And as jeff bogard mentioned, Google remains free for making calls to the US for the moment. Skype is just too heavy of an app (especially for smartphones), and I've found that beyond my close circle of friends and family, a lot of people I know have opted to stop turning it on these days.

You mean the Google Voice app? How are the rates? When did they introduce this? I started using the Skype app in 2008, I swear this wasn't an option yet (Edit: found out it arrived in 2010, I need to get with the times).

EDIT: Set it up, do I get free google voice to google voice calling?

EDIT 2: okay, now I need to ask why this is better than Skype? :spock:

And it's refusing to let me add anyone. Pardon me while I kick it.

sup guys!

I pay for unlimited USA calls... i think it's like 5 bucks a month. I use it for conference calls. Due to working at home, just one meeting can eat up all of my cell minutes, so this works perfectly.
