No it doesn't work that way and besides its really not worth the money/effort to play the uncut version. There are barely any differences and those differences there are are arguably for the worse.
Ok I will rest with pal version. Thanks

The Japanese version of sor3 is much easier..
That's unusual.. usually the Japanese version of a given game is the same difficulty, or harder than, the English version.

Not necessarily. For example, there are many arcade beat 'em ups out there *cough Konami* with harder non-japan incarnations due various factors (stupid health drain systems, no extends etc.)

You guys that keep saying SoR2/Final Fight are 'teh bestest eva' brawlers really, really need to expand your horizons a little bit...

Yes, because clearly Double Dragon II - The Revenge Game Pak™ for your Nintendo Entertainment System is the best BM'up for both single player and co-op.

The US release of Brawn Bothers is much harder than the Japanese version due to the maze nature of the later stages.

I grew up reading a lot of gaming magazines in the late 80s/90s (Games Master, Mean Machines and various other Sega and Sony publications) and I definitely remember the general consensus being that the western releases of games were always harder than their Japanese counterparts.

They used to reel off something about cultural differences regarding gaming. Westerners play for the challenge, Japanese play for fun.. something along those lines anyway. Not saying it is true in the slightest but I definitely remember this being spouted in all the magazines.

I don't know anything about Japan, but this totally false. They have it backwards.

Did you know there is a code to turn Brawn Brothers into Brain Brothers?

The game is far more enjoyable without the mazes, but I still think the Rushing Beat series is terrible overall and I've never understood the love.

Don't bother. None of them hold a candle to sor2 but then again nothing does. Its sad to think that we hit the pinnacle of the genre 20 years ago. At the time I was so excited about future side scroller beat me ups completely unaware that no one would ever make anything better.

NOTHING DOES YOU SAY

Obviously you never played AVP, king of the arcade beat em ups.

The greatest beat me up ever? Final Fight 1 arcade version. I don't think I've ever played a beat me up this fun.

No still AVP, that game literally makes your heart race.

There is definitely nothing on the Neo which comes close to SOR2.
Like someone said earlier, SOR2 is the pinnacle of Beatemups.

Burning Fight sucks. the hit detection sucks balls.
Mutation Nation isnt bad.
My personal fav is Sengoku 2, and also Ninja Combat, for the nostalgia.
Sengoku 3 is fine for the fancy combos, but too boring for me.

Read my words

Aliens vs Predators (Capcom)

not on the Neo•Geo but what about dungeons & dragons collection on the sega saturn?

I really like those 2 games

The newly released compilation on the PS3 is a better as it is 4 players

Even though I've used the term overrated at least three times in this thread, I won't hesitate to use it again.

AvP is overrated.

With all the homebrew fan remakes, I'm surprised no one has attempted a Fatal Fury beat-em-up.

Until they come out with an X-Men sequel utilizing the vs. games sprites, AvP remains tops for me. Can't ask for more from this genre than two Predators taking on an entire Alien army. Unless they make a sequel introducing RPG elements like Dragon's Crown.

The original Fatal Fury is sort of like a beat em up, yes. There's only three playable characters, lots of NPCs though.

Except that players outnumber the enemy and not the other way around.
