Haha my room is clean. I am not sure what that plastic was in the background(didn't notice that until now) but I think it might have been my PCB anti static baggie. To the right of the cab is my bed so I cant help that :p. Small room.

EDIT

Upon further inspection of the pic that plastic was actually the protective plastic that I had to take off the Egret 3 CP as I bought it new. That has been picked up since. :)

...

This is definitely my pride and joy of all that I own. I love it to death. I only have the 1 game(gunbird 2) but thats a great starter I think.

As a huge Taito fan I'd love to have one of those! I envy that machine with Gunbird 2 in it... Enjoy!

Thanks man, I appreciate the nice words. I have since gotten Donpachi and I love playing it on the E2 as well. Both Donpachi and Gunbird 2 are fun and challenging as hell.

ITs too bad I cant fit a 2nd cab in here but with the E2 its all you really need.

Yes!!!:

All in a college dorm room, lol.

The posters were custom printed by a friend, the cab is in great condition with little burn in.

The only thing that I need to do is clean the sides with the magic eraser and it's good to go (for now). I did order a marquee holder for the Egret which I'm waiting for it to arrived plus some PCBs.

Soon the cab will be complete. :D

@stealthlurker: I'm not grumpy if you get to know me :)

@tarma: theres a group order going on right now at arcadeotaku, get in while you can. The cabs can be couriered across the UK but are situated in northampton on arrival, you can go pick it up yourself if you like :)

Register, its in the sales section. Not many left either, I think just egret3's now but if you're lucky you might be able to sneak in on an egret2 order :D

Blast city is a nice cab but the monitors can be flaky, plus its not optimal for neogeo. You'd probably want an egret 2 as it has nice low res performance, you can get a good 4 or 7 button panel for it, and the monitor can be rotated easily (it has a rotate mechanism, no chance of breaking anything if you wanted to rotate it for vertical shooters).

or , alternatively you can buy mine for £600 each plus coming down to get them, and I'll go and look for some other ones instead :make_fac:

Seriously though, get in on that order because it'll be the last one in a while, and the prices are very reasonable, £500 or so for a decent candy is a steal.

Why would you want to sell your cabs?? :spock:

What's the difference between a two & three Egret? Will they have a jamma harness? Where's the best place to get a four slot??

So many questions... lol :tickled:

I'd probably sell them to get egret 2's or 3's in the order, better monitors, easier to rotate.

You can pick up a four slot anywhere but you'll have a little work shoehorning one into these cabs, a one slot is however very simple, plug and play. A four slot is to some extent but its a little more wiring, it will however work fine (I use one).

Egret 2 : = easy rotate mech, low/medium resolution only/jamma only
Egret 3: = no rotate mech, low/medium/high res monitor/jamma + JVS for stuff like sega naomi/taito typeX etc.

You're probably far better off with an egret 2 as a first cab. Depends if you want to play vertical stuff at all, if you don't then an AWSD (atomiswave sit-down) like mine is fine too. A tri-sync (low/med/high res) monitor is usually not the best choice for low res (neogeo/CPS2) stuff as its optimised for high resolution stuff (naomi etc), but however I have tweaked my monitors and they look very good still. Some purists wouldn't touch them though.

An egret 2 would look better for low res stuff, but would need tweaking too, well for me anyway but I'm a bit anal.

I just want one for mvs and maybe the odd jamma board - doesn't look as if Konami's Aliens is ever gonna get a home port so I'd prolly snag that if i could find it for sale somewhere.

So you'd just recommend a one slot eh? Are they pretty robust - you know for like swapping the carts out on a regular basis?

Would an Egret fit in the back of a transit connect van??

yeah one slots are robust, no problem swapping carts all the time, a four slot can be a total pain in the arse unless its completely clean and the carts are too ,sometimes I can spend 10mins or more just getting all four carts to work properly.

and yeah, it'd fit in a fan like that I'd imagine - you can unscrew the control panel also so it'd have a good chance of fitting. Don't quote me on that though, I can get proper measurements however.

Can't see the image :(

Wonder if there'll be someone punting one slots at the show?

Think I'll go for an Egret 2. For £400.00 I'm not really gonna get a better deal in the UK am I?

Make sure there are E2's left, pm grantspain on there or post in his thread, its a £175 deposit up front.

You can get a one slot anywhere, here, ebay, they are all over the place.

You'll need a 300w stepdown too as these are 110V, they are doing a group order of those for £20 too , or you can order one online for £20-£30.

Also, remember that these have been situated for years in an arcade, so they won't be 'as new' and might need cleaning, might have a little screen burn, or a bit of restoration needed, however he said he is aiming to get the best condition ones he possibly can, and if you look at the cabs that came in with bibliophiles group order, they were very very nice indeed.

I'll post/pm shortly. I can send the money more or less straight away.

Those dimensions in cm?

Screen burn? Ew.
Don't mind cleaning em up, but screen burn? That'll bother me.

Pretty sure they are in CM yeah. Screen burn is just due to age. Unavoidable sometimes, my cabs are probably only 6yrs old at most so theres not a hint of screen burn. Its unlikely an E3 would have it either unless its been in heavy operation.
