How can I get more hits in my combos? What some good chains? I can get up to 6 against a single enemy. What about other people?

Try B,B,B,A,B,A,B,A
or B,B,B,A,B,A,A,B,A (I am not sure but I think in case of the 3th A there is a very, very tiny pause to hold (1/5 sec))

There are also great juggle combos with multiple hits but I am on that now!!

I forgot, you can also use a special move instead of the last strike!

Then you get even more hits.

Danke!

I feel like maybe combos will redeem this "okay" game...

And if that fails, run it through a freaking wood chipper. Watching the resultant shower of plastic and silicon shards would probably be more entertaining than playing Sengoku 3...

Do you seriously feel that way?

I mean, the game is okay, but I feel it let us down.

Below the neogeo standards.

I was expecting so much better control, but the control was not good at all. As if I had programmed the control.

Sengoku 3 is a great game. There is a huge step between it and the other beat-em all!
But it's true that this kind of game have a limited interest for the non-fan.

to the non-neo fan?

Sorry, but the neo geo isn't known for the Sengoku 3 type of beat em up. It has excellent fighters though...

Seriously, I think this game was incomplete. Plenty of developers try to make games and just can't follow through because programmers go mad, or money isn't available. I think it was a little of both for the dev team on Sengoku 3.

I don't speak about non-neo fan but about non-beat-em-all fan

I wouldn't call myself a complete non-beat-em-up fan. I really loved all the double dragon games in both the arcade and the NES, and I like the first two Sengoku games a lot too. I just found the control very hard to deal with in Sengoku 3. Some of the situation are too tough as well, like when you get 4 yell fat men that run with swords, or two yellow fat men and two ax throwers. It's impossible to do right against them without taking the hits.

I have to agree with EvilWasabi. It's rather ridiculous some of the cheap shots that are allowed. Plus I kept having problems lining up with the enemies while they had no probs hitting me.

Try use a transport special to get near them.

Or near yourself them from above or below not head on. Then slice and dice them.

Also use Special weapons.

If you are surrounded d,u+A+B will help if you have the Power left!

So which cahracter do you recommend for getting as far into the game as possible?

And to the guy who said no replay, I agree. There's one ending!!! WTF?!

This is Sengoku 2001, not super mario sengoku bros.

Depends if you are playing at highest level with max lifes you can beat it with all!

My favourite 3 are (equal no ranks):

Falcon (very useful specials and fast)

Byakki (useful specials, final punch with weapon has great range will hit many opponents in line, good for foes with lances)

Congoh (Slow, but fucking high damage and good specials)

Yeah, I like Falcon best too. For some reason, I really don't dig Byakki. Byakki has a good final attack with his disc weapon, but it lags on the way back. When y9ou have a lot of enemies on the screen, you don't want to spend time waiting a few secs for your weapon to return.

I think there could have been some hidden stages. India, Germany, Mexico, Tibet. Man that game had so much potential to be better.

I know, but the trend of releasing half assed work is criminal. They really shouldn't have bothered. Imagine if they could have finished these games by 2003, they would have been a lot better.

I guess they just had to get shit out.

Xenogears is also an unfinished game, as well as Final Fantasy 7 but no one blames square for that and they still they are buying their shit-games.

Have you ever tried "Eternal Arcadia"? It is very good, but no seems to play it. Because Mainstream rules!

By the way, Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 is also an incomplete game.

I hate FF7, RBFF2 (ah, another FF7), and Xenogears was complete enough. There was an ending, and sheesh, 50+ hours of gameplay.

Sengoku 2001 was half baked. Looked good in certain areas, but it was still in beta if you ask me.

Ninja Turtles offered better scenes, you know.

Wrong Xenogears was not complete.

Normally it would have 100+ hours of gameplay.

But the man responsible for the game was fired by scuare, because he could not finish it till Christmas. So they used another team of programmers to "complete" it.

He made CD1! The game is very good on that one.

They made CD2 and the game is ruined on that one! Only Blahblah on that one and... hey if you played it you should know how different CD1 is from CD2!

I figured CD2 was just to mess with you the game player. CD 1 takes 45 hours, and CD1 takes 5 hours...
