Does anyone else fell that "make me an offer" is BS. Atleast say a figure and OBO or something. Anyways my suggestion is to make it so you MUST list a price, many sites i frequent implement this and it works well. "Make me an offer" is just a way of gouging, and if someone wants to pay more, they will anyways. That is my 2 cents

Yeah, they should post a price...
With one exception: the "NG.com" auctions, those are a refreshing way to sell stuff...
I hope I see more of them.

make me an offer is a means of testing the market. Seriously - when you sell a lot you start to see it - items you sell that you start kicking yourself in the ass over afterwards because you could have sold it for more. Using "make me an offer" can be a good way of finding out how much someone wants something, and there is a lot of desperation here. ;)

It's really not much different from a reserve auction. You test the waters to see what the market is, and you decide your selling price from there. If you don't like making offers, don't.

..make me an offer. I do this because even when I put up the price some _-_-_- person was like I'll give you 30 for it more if it's complete. I told them it was complete and how much would they buy it for, they said 30. People just.... oh never mind

There's nothing wrong with someone asking for offers rather than stating specific prices. Its a free market and they should be allowed to do so. Its silly to ask to "require" people to put fixed prices on items. In the case of many items, the prices are not easy to determine, and the best way to test the market out is to ask for offers. The simple solution for you is that if you don't like to make offers, then don't. Problem solved. :)

I also dislike “make me an offer”, because basically it is an undercover auction. Of course this is a free market, and certainly sometimes you do not really know how much is your item worth, but is also true that some people in these forums are used to take advantage of “give me an offer” systematically, the solution is simple, do not make any.

On the other hand, I think the price guide may be should be revised.
