Sega versus / link board? Anyone know anything about this one?

My net cities each have one of these boards in them, sega 838-13816-91. Googling that part number yields next to nothing aside from some YAJ listings.

Far as I can tell it's for versus linking of the cabs. Each has one video in with 2 outs, same for audio. The cab itself has two USB cables going between the IO board and the main PCB area. The JVS (USB) chain seemed to go from NAOMI to the IO, then the second cable runs from the IO back to one of these boards. I'm thinking it's to extend another node on the IO so each cab uses its own IO board for versus play.

I'm really curious if anyone knows anything more about this board, or how they're supposed to be wired. I'm not planning on linking my cabs at this point but you never know. I also figure if I had any more info maybe I could figure a fair price and sell them to someone who will actually use them.

They don't seem that expensive, I doubt you'll get rich from selling it.

I google searched for that part number and found a picture of Pope Benedict.

My goal here definitely isn't getting rich. I'd love to have a full wiring diagram for these though showing what looms to use to link two net cities.

interresting. the AMP UP 12 pins are obviously power (red is 12v yellow is 5v), three USB ports for JVS controls, one audio/video in, two out.. this is definitely a Vs board allright. doesn't look too complex. Bet it has a Video amp on it. Would be pretty neat to properly link my blast and Noir clone with this.

It's actually only 2 USB ports, one A and one B. I'm thinking both the I/O's use this as a hub. The JVS test on NAOMI's have "nodes" in the I/O test, I'm guessing this extends the I/O to include the other cab's JVS I/O as a second node. Basically the NAOMI has a USB A on it, and the B end of that cable hits the IO in the CP. That IO has an A connector on it, and the B end goes back to this link board, leaving one A open which I'm assuming goes to the IO in the 2nd cab.

If you want to borrow it and see if you can get it to work, give me enough to cover shipping and a beer and I'll send it your way. If you get it working we'll figure something out, otherwise you can just mail it back. Just putting it out there.
