Scary experience

Recently my arms have been getting tingly for no reason, and I have been hearing my heart beet in my ear all the time. I was planning on going to a doctor soon about it. The other night I was on my way to the church youth group when my right cheek went numb. I got freaked out and decided to go to the doctors office, since it is near the church. They did a bunch of basic neurological tests (follow my finger with your eyes, walk touching the back of one foot to the front of the other, etc.) and checked my eyes. She took a little longer than I thought necessary. Then she gets in the doctor who's good with eye things. This wasn't very reasuring. Apperently my optic nerve looked swolen, and this may indicate swelling of the brain. I had to have a cat scan to check for a tumor. Luckily, that turned up negative. Today I went to the optomitrist. He confirmed that my optic nerve was swollen. The doctors seem to think it may be the pimple medication I've been taking. I've stopped taking it, and I am going to have a check up in two weeks. Please, pray for me.

I thought you might have come down with "Bells Palsy" I believe it is spelled. My friend recently has suffered from BP. Apparently, it's caused by excessive stress.

Best wishes.

OK, I'm back. The dotor's think it's a pseudotumor cause by the pimple medication Minocen/minocycline. Basically, its when the breain acts like it has a tumor but doesn't. I had a spinal tap to lower the pressure (not as bad as people say it is), and now I'm on this medication that will lower lwoer the amount of spinal fluid being produced. My cheek is mostle fine, I havent felt tingling in my arms, and heartbeet in my ear is slightly quieter. Thanks for your love and support.

Good to hear that things are progressing well, Atariguy. Medication allergies suck. <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

Medication allergies suck.
It's actually more of an uncommon side effect. I had actually been the stuff 2 years before anything happened.

Glad you're better now, Atariguy.

BioMotor- Medication allergies do indeed suck. I once broke out in hives from taking Tegretol, and had to go to the doctor's office for a shot of Prednisone. It was no fun.
