I'm still confused. Are there or are there not fatalities? Are they all the same or different? Or are there 2 or 3 different?

Verbatum, are you playing on AES? Do you have bios? Which country setting? And AES or MVS mode? On which modes do fatalities occur?

NO FATALITIES. Where the fatalities once used to be, they've edited it so that everyone just swipes across the opponent and blood just splashes out like in SS4 and SS5.
No Body Splitting
No Decapitations
AES. I have a Debug Bios set to JAPAN with Violence on LV3
MVS option doesn't work for games after KOF95.

But Verbatum was talking about "the goodness!". Was he talking about just the blood? Or is he doing something different? 'Cos he sure was excited about the fatalities.

Well, in any case, is there a LOT of blood?

Same amount of Blood as SS5.
I think he mentioned he played a Beta version at E3 before they axed the fatalities for the Home and MVS releases.

I should get my copy later tonight, so I guess I'll find out for myself soon enough. But if SNKP edited out the more violent fatalities in this age of GTA prostitute beatings/slayings, this will mark one of their lamest moves ever. This isn't 1993 anymore .... :oh_no:

Never Played a beta version at E3. Only read Arcadia about the issue.

Sorry wrong person. It was NRUVA who played it at E3

So what have you been playing? Did you do fatalities on your AES or have you been talking about the blood?

So does the AES.

What the hell people: Yeah, it sucks that SNK might have axed these for the final version (the pics I have look great), but are you after a kick-ass game or Mortal Kombat? I hate editing more than anyone, which is why I only buy imports, but a final version is a final version, and there's nothing we can do. I know, it blows.

All I want is a great 2D Samurai Spirits fighter, and that's what we got! If you want a great game, buy it. Otherwise Mortal Kombat 1,2 and 3 will be on the Williams arcade treasures 2. But really folks, why do you play Samurai Spirits then?

Not trying to offend or be a little bitch, but I'm just courious!

Fatalities just add to the realism. I mean if get cut for 2 rounds, you're gonna cut in half or something. Plus it's been in all the other SS releases. So when you take it out, it feels lesser.

A lot of people will still enjoy the game with or without the fatalities...Its just that they may want something "complete"...just an idea...my game comes in tom or weds i know id be happy with it...but bec a part( though not really essential to the gameplay) was removed it kinda dips the dramatic scale:)

When I play SS I ALWAYS go for the fatalities... same with LB too for the characters with bladed weapons.

Agreed, fatalities would have been great, but it doesn't make or break the game. I agree, in the year 2004, this type of censorship is overkill......especially when you consider the other games in the market. Isn't this why we have a rating system? However disappointing the absense of fatalties may be, SS5 and SS5 Special are still great games and a fitting swan song for a great system.

No splitting in half. No fatalities. Nothing to play for. This game SUCKS!!! Same reason I didn't like SSV. It's fun to play for the first couple hours. Then it becomes pointless when you know you can't see fatalities and bodies cutting in half and decapitations. Gameplay is improved from SSV and there are some new and recycled backgrounds and music. That's about it.
I'm sure there are others out there that are disappointed.

Wow, it sucks because it doesn't have fatalities?
Go play Mortal Kombat instead. :buttrock:

The funny thing is...What if they add that feature on the "mainstream" consoles...instead of a hardcore's system...but like I said this would still be a great game...

NO, the fatalities in Samurai Shodown are just as big of a deal as they are in MK.

No, it certainly doesn't ruin the game, but it still is a disappointment. Oh,well. At least they haven't edited out blood altogether.

I don't really care if there are fatalities or not. When they happen in the other games, they're funny, but don't really add to my enjoyment of playing. In fact, I probably wouldn't have noticed they weren't in 5 if it hadn't been pointed out a million times. On the other hand, I stuck my foot through a wall when they removed Mai's bounce, so go figure.

 LOL....yeah the absence of Mai's bounce had me all twisted too....Raz was able to find a cheat for that though. I'm sure if the code for body slicing is on the cart, Raz can find it.

The Goodness refers to the beautiful effects, background changes, and music that happens during the "Overkill". :D

Dammit. Fatalities were one of the reasons why I was anticipating this so much, but it was too good to be true. I would not be surprised if this is the version added to the SS5/SS5 Special package for PS2 and Xbox.

This censorship makes me wanna puke. *Waits for rom so he can get the real deal*
