Hey

I just picked up SSV for xbox and was wondering if anyone has any combos and/or strats to post on any of the characters. I know combos are far and few in this game, but post what you have.

Also I know a few moves that can damage an opponent that is already knocked down, but they only hit when they want to, does any one when it's right to execute these moves and score damage on your opponent? (i.e. Sogetsu's Forward+Kick, and Kusaregedo's Vomit QCB+any Light SLash)

Combo's:

Kusaregedo-

(when opponent jumps at you) QCB+Light Slash->QCF+Light SLash->Hard SLash.

WHen they jump at you and you vomit, you'll most likely take their hit then trap them with the vomit, hand grab them and hit them for the 3 hit Hard Slash. This sometimes works for a 5 hit combo, but can be a 4 hit if you eliminate the vomit start up.

Sogetsu:

(not much of a combo) STanding Medium Slash, into his F,D,DF Light Slash move.

Again not much of a combo but can come in handy.

Charlotte:

(almost as same as Sogetsu's above combo)

Standing Medium Slash into her "Power GRadiation" (F,D,DF,any slash) this will connect with any slash styled "Power Gradiation", it has won me a few Xbox live matches.

Ok well those are my main 3 characters. I play others but am not as good with them as I am with these 3.

Combo?

Kusaregedo has close stand AB > 6428C.

Charlotte has cross jump AB > land stand B > 236C.

Sogetsu has a long chain against a back turned character but I forgot.

Yea just basically keep grabbing him in the corner. Al so he doesnt need his weapon to do his specials. If you disarm him he can still do his annoying move where he has that guy grab your ankels, then he can still perform his POW! You also cannot avoid his POW by ducking.

hello there, tianyuan! anyhow SpaceMarine, Mina has a useful knocked-down hit. Get her to shoot at least one arrow into the sky, and when your opponent falls, also call the arrow down :D. This keeps you from having to get close as well, since if you get close to Mina, she's screwed

Who the hell do you play as, Gaira and Kusaregedo only?!

I've ducked under Sankuro's POW special dozen of times.

I mainly play Kusaregedo and Sogetsu, and my sogetsu was hit when I ducked. There is a slim chance that I was a fraction of a second off when ducking, but I could swear i was fully down.

I've been able to duck under the POW as well with most characters. Guy doesn't even get a chance to use it, usually, since I generally just rush that shit down :chimp:

Seriously though, playing against CPU using Sankuro, CPU always knows what special I'm using. I guess it gets me back for even choosing the bastard

I wonder if there's an easier way of using 'Gedo's command throw? I've tried buffering it in from jumps, rolls etc. with little luck (a few successes, many failed attempts). Otherwise, I like using his range, and setting up for his specials.

Enja is definitely one of my favorite characters, although he can be a little hard to win with against the more advantaged or abusable characters such as Yoshitora. With good counter timing (enmetsu / explosion, rikkou rekidan [sp?], etc.), and some combos, he's still fearsome.

What I discovered is during a jump just quickly do the F,B,D, then don't tap U yet, wait until the very second you land on the ground then quickly tap U+Kick same time. I can execute it a lot. What I still cannot do is his other POW, I cannot figure out the timing or anything on that one...any suggestions?

SpaceMarine's 'Gedo is pretty badass if I may say.

If he can ever pull of those 2 twisty rediculous moves on the list- daaaaaaamn- that'd be rediculous.

I barely can do the other super in practice mode. But I use the Xbox pad.

Ha Thanks neobuyer. Your Yunfei is quite awesome as well. You made me change my whole style of playing with Gedo; I never had to take my game to the air so much with him hah.

As for those two "twisty rediculous moves" as you call them, I can only do the special move, not the POW, and that special move is utterly useless with your Yunfei since if we ever get close I have not time to execute it and have it connect. I tried a few times and only hit it once, only to have you fly away heh.

Also tianyuan2k2 I cannot have that combo you said for Gedo work:
("stand AB > 6428C.") I just can't figure out the timing...I may have discovered that I am retarted by this.

If you want to use gedo's 6428C in real match, SpaceMarine17, practise these four easy setup for gedo:

jump A > 6428C
BC > 6428C
3D > 6428C
wake up > 6428C

I could do them 80% in the arcade. 60% on Xbox, and 0% on live :crying:

My friends play gedo much better than me and they could do the 6428C and POW throw online as well. Maybe it's has to do with timing on live???

But yeah, if you cant do the basic four 6428C setups for gedo consistently in practice mode and against computer, you are not going to be able to use 6428C effectively in a real match... Things like:

close C guard break > pow throw
stand A > 6428C
crouch A > 6428C
Crouch AB > 6428C
Stand AB > 6428C
block a strong slash > 6428C
eat a strong slash > 6428C

require more practice. But until then do the basic things first...

For Mina... The real good Mina players can kill most characters in close range too. It's all about her kicks, jump kicks, jump AB, 421B, 2B, 1D/3D and 623A if you know what I am talking about.

SpaceMarine, I'll consider that timing for it. Should work out well

tianyuan, I hear ya on Mina. once close-up characters get near Mina, she has to change strategies, and as you said, she can be useful close-up as well. It's all about mixing things up rather than trying to just block and counter. (Which is the job of someone like Gaira and his huge monk beads! :chimp: )

Is anyone still playing this?

I had a slight "vacation" from it thanks to Battlefronts II.

I'm still rocking Gedo, Sogetsu, and Resetsumaru (w/ the occasional Charlotte and/or Jubei)

Update on my playing::: I finally pulled off Gedo's other POW! in practice 2x but cannot do it any longer grrrr....

I'm down for matches when I can. Good chance I'll be on later tonight.

Hmm not much strats or combos posted by me...sorry.
