the clone wars cartoon is sweet. i don't know why lucas gave us that shity cgi clone wars which had nothing to do with the clone wars instead.

Star Wars Rebels is a thing of beauty as well. It fits into this nice slot some years before Ep 4 and has had some interesting cameos of younger versions of characters we know like Leia and Lando among others. They even brought in Vice Admiral Thrawn into the mix this season.

It led into crapisode 3 pretty great. The computer animation one isn't too bad tho. You gotta watch it in chronological order, not aired order. Makes more sense, and the stories are better told that way.

Plus it gives us Ahsoka Tano, who I admit started off pretty damn annoying, but ended up awesome.

Also it leads into Star Wars Rebels which is fantastic.

FINALLY saw this tonight. I have been avoiding this thread like the plague, forgetting I even started it. Movie is awesome. Better than Seven, no doubt. I love the adult/non-traditional ending. I thought the CGI characters were well done with the possible exception of the last one shown but considering that I saw it today, the significance, struck a chord.

Sorry if this has all been said and debated already. Its been a busy Christmas season and I needed to finally revisit this.

Just saw it this afternoon, entertaining I'll say that. I am interested to see the undoubtedly many more films to come but I see it as a tired series.

Be honest with yourselves

This movie sucked. It's a boring series now. Stop gorging yourselves on memberberries.

Well, I ended up seeing it this weekend.

Overall I thought it was a good movie. Not a great movie, not one that I would see again in theater, but would watch on Netflix or some such.

I think visually the CG characters were the weakest part. I did enjoy the return to more practical effects in some areas, and hope that it opens the way to see that sort of thing in other big budget movies.

The story I felt had some wonky bits to it but weren't so bad as to put me off. Some bits of poor continuity and writing here and there, and some of the characters were pretty much just bland overused tropes. Though, there were a few that really did shine. Also, I really did like to get to see Vader be a bad ass.

I thought it was well done, especially the final battle bit, felt more in tone with a war movie than a star wars movie. That said, its not the best war movie, or the best star wars movie.

Spoiler:

And the main character was meh. She feels like someone took their RPG character and inserted her in to the movie.
