Some of you motherfuckers have really hardened your hearts…I'm quite the movie-cunt and even I can find some enjoyment in these.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, from the mid 90's until Episode III was shit out on the collective SW fan base head…we had to endure nearly a decade of Lucas not only fucking up the original films beyond belief, but also releasing the shit-fest clusterfucks that were Ep I-III…

And you bitches are complaining about EP VII and this upcoming film? Really?

God…nothing can make some of you miserable fucks happy…and that's coming from the mouth of a miserable fuck.

Episode 7 was a lazy ass fucking effort that rehashed the entire Episode 4 plot.

Yet you along with others seem to think this is perfectly acceptable. It's not. If I wanted to get that plot, I'd rewatch Episode fucking 4.

The new movies look to be aiming for mediocrity, and as usual people have no problem with shit being shoveled down their throat so long as they get something.

I bet Episode 8 will be the Empire Strikes Back plot rehashed.

This looks great. I liked Force Awakens. Yes yes, Ive heard all the arguments about being a rehash of Episode 4, that it's not Empire, that there isn't enough Gungans in it, blah blah whatever. It was a fun movie. Except for that stupid fucking jesus lightsaber.

BUT THIS looks fantastic. We've got fucking Ghost Dog playing a cool character from the Clone Wars show, which could even mean references to REBELS characters or stories, we got Donnie Yen being a Star Wars ninja of all things (if he busts out a lightsaber at some point I will seriously just start fondling myself at the theater), we got Alan Tudyk voicing a droid that -with that single line in the trailer- makes my warm nethers quiver from memories of HK47, and honest to god the coolest thing about this is that it's a Star Wars movie that isn't trying to milk anymore money out of the original cast of characters, except for Vader, but whatever. Vader's awesome. The world needs more Vader everywhere. This is a Star Wars movie that will be following a new cast of characters that won't necessarily be 'trying to find Luke' the whole time.

To me, the anticipation for this feels a lot like the anticipation we all had after 1983's Jedi, and waiting for Episode 1. Yes we were disappointed with Crapisode I, II and III but the anticipation, the feeling we had back then.. it feels like that for me. I can't wait to watch Rogue One.

When anyone defends The Force Awakens, they give up all rights to ever complain again about Hollywood's lack of ideas/sequel addiction.

So you only play Street Fighter with the pneumatic pads, then?

Just Super Mario Brothers on the NES?

Probably dont own a SNES because it's a rehash of the NES?

Life must be grand being so negative.

Negativity is our wheelhouse here at NG.com. I'm shocked you haven't realized that yet.

Think about how low your standards for anything actually are that a plagiarized movie --of another movie in the same series no less-- is somehow perfectly acceptable.

I love progress. You clearly have no interest in real progress.

Hollywood loves muppets like you...willing to piss away your money on a plagiarized movie while you congratulate them for doing something neither original nor inspired.

So.. progress, would - by your definition - be something different from the original. Not a sequel, not a remake, right? Have I got the movie for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frdj1zb9sMY

Totally different characters! Progress!

Lol such negativity. It's almost hilarious, but more sad. I bet when Friday comes around, you wake up with "Great... its friday. I get only two days without work. What a gyp." Guess what money's for? (here's a hint - pissing it away however one feels fit doing so!) I do feel for you a little, what with considering everyone that differs from your opinion is a muppet, but I mean... does it really matter to others what you think of them? Nah. Not really.

Still tho, this movie looks great. Can't wait to piss my money away and have a great afternoon doing so, while DangerousNeigh is at home diddling himself (herself?) saving money in the name of waiting for progress.

Yawn, ad hominem.

So predictable.

You might want to avoid ever debating anything since you have a proclivity for engaging in argumentative fallacy.

This is a debate?

Was my response not... progressive enough?

Oh my.

Another incredibly stupid noob who can't seem to comprehend what he himself writes...shocking.

Try reading a little more slowly and consider what has been written.

Usually the people who are crying loudest about negativity are the most ill-equipped to handle opposing viewpoints.

Look at how salty you have gotten, all because someone didn't share your viewpoint over a movie.

its ok dude, you winned the internet argu-off for this weekend. It''s all good, champ!

I can't wait to see Forrest Whitaker reprise the role of Saw Gerrera. I'm not sure why he's got an accent as Saw didn't have one in Clone Wars, but it'll still be cool to see him 15+ years later.

Meh.

I look at it this way...I don't consider VIII to be a IV ripoff...I consider it to be the real world lesson of history repeating itself if not handled correctly the first time. Like WWII happening because WWI wasn't handled correctly when it ended.

Many of the elements of VIII were unfinished or improperly finished business Of the previous generation happening once again. Sometimes, history does indeed repeat itself.

Luke, Han...both just ran away when shit didn't go their way and look what happened, all the work they accomplished was somewhat for nothing. In the end, their cowardice allowed a new empire to rise and on a more personal note, cost Solo his life.

I doubt I'll change your opinion, and you are mostly certainly free to feel what you wish, but I didn't take Ep VIII as simply a cash-grab remake like so many other films.

(Now...ill say that is obviously a cash grab, this is the Disney industrial complex were talking about here. I'm ok with a cash grab as long as it does its job and entertains me, which EP VIII did)

I didn't like Episode 7 at all. Actually, felt offended by how blatantly happy it was retreading old ground. I got caught on plot hole after plot hole throughout what seemed like complete idiot-plotting. Really, the movie just plodded for me in such a way that I barely made it through... Then I went online and saw all my Star Wars friends happy as shit, loving the movie, and I realized something. The movie wasn't for me, it was for them... and they were happy. So, all and all, I can't fault the Force Awakens. I don't think I'll waste any time on the future Disney outings, but that's on me. I don't have to get everything, and not everything that hits the screens needs to be for me. I'm totally fine living in a world where the stuff I love drops only a couple times of year in the theaters, and even then I find it hard to see things in the theater and would rather just Redbox/Netflix them. I am far and away not the audience Disney, and so many other studios, is marketing to or wants, so I'm not surprised when they don't really make movies I like.

It's odd...this seems to be the case. You either 100% like it, or you 100% don't...there's a clear line.

I guess I cannot fully grasp why I liked it, I just did. Saying that, I am ruthless concerning Episode I-III...I fucking hate them. We're talking about some advanced level hate here...and I won't defend them in any way. If others find them watchable...so be it, but I'll never watch any of them again. Because of that, I'm genuinely surprised that I liked VII.

Well thats because Episode 7 is a good movie. I a few problems with here and there but all in all it was a worthy successor to the Star Wars name.

Meh, I'm pretty indifferent about VII... It's an OK movie that had it's moments, but fell so short of it's potentials (especially being set in the SW Universe, budget etc.). I hope they made it so close to IV (calling large parts of it plagiarism is right on) so they could convince some of the skeptics and move on to more original stories from there. And I'm looking forward to good fanedits of VII (HAL 9000's effort was a good start) that fix the plotholes, improve the storytelling and make it darker...

Rogue One looks like it could be OK as well, no expectations can't be disappointed I guess, so more indifference from me. Might go to the theater if some of my friends are going, could make for a fun watch and interesting discussion afterwards. IMHO the only really repulsing part of the trailers is that it seems some of the cast had one too many plastic surgeries...
