DAMMIT!

Someone I actually liked a lot... his movies were "plentiful" and sometimes lacking...

But I remember him in the Street Fighter trilogy... one of my childhood favs... and still is...

RIP... you will be missed...

Oh wow. The legend and the original Street Fighter. I remember back in the early days of ebay searching for Street Fighter (Capcom) items, The pages would be filled with Sonny Chiba's Street Fighter DVD's or posters. May he rest in peace.

Never forgot the weekend in '93 when I finally got ahold of a shoddily fansubbed VHS bootleg of the second Golgo 13 movie starring Chiba. It was essentially my gateway drug to Japanese cinema as a whole.

He was more than just an actor, and the most vicious, intense, violent martial artist to grace the silver screen. He was an inspiration, an idea, and a way of living.

And now he's gone. In a completely pointless, avoidable, and ill-fitting manner.

Well, I hate to hear that news. I always enjoyed him in anything I was able to see him in.

Now I need to go back and watch Message from Space again.
