What console is that in the thumbnail, an Analogue NT? So much for "REAL hardware!"

This is amazing. The AVS was supposed to have this but it never came to fruition and that was definitely a bummer for me. I've always wanted to try these and it would definitely give me a reason to do so.

Weird. Is that a thing?
You know the kids love making real hardware look like chinese knockoffs these days, and paying $100+ for the pleasure.

I tried out the emulator version early on, but to be honest achievements this far after the fact didn't hold my interest long.

I wonder if this could add timer support for speed runners. Might be useful to them, if the hardware can detect exactly when a game begins and ends. Or high score support for the score chasers.

This feels like the stuff that the NES Remix games were looking to do, small challenges to spice up things for players bored with the usual routine. It's inoffensive to me, I wouldn't platinum LttP but I also wouldn't afford if someone else did.

Nintendo can't even be bothered with achievements on their consoles, and now we're trying to get them on old consoles? It's interesting that it can be done, but not a priority.

I love the idea but that thing looks like a hot mess. It’s also disappointing that you don’t get an on-screen pop-up acknowledging your achievement (unlike with an emulator). Still, I’m happy to see this and curious to see where it leads.

It's a prototype. The final thing will presumably fit in a cart slot like a Game Genie or what have you.
