Just finished it this morning.

Took me just under 13 hours to complete the game and missed a number of the files.

Overall, one of the better entries in the series post Resident Evil 4. Taken as a whole experience, I agree that it suffers a bit from multiple personality disorder but I found the constant change of pace refreshing rather than disorienting.

Lots of nostalgia bait in the second half of the game, but it's fine. The series is 30 years old. It's okay to lean on its own foundation, especially given the way in which Requiem handles the overall mythology of Resident Evil.

Definitely don't waste your money on the deluxe edition. There is almost no added value of substance.

Lots of nice things to unlock in subsequent playthroughs if you are completionist. New weapons and so forth.

No Mercenaries is a bit of a disappointment, especially after how poor the mode is in Village. But maybe it'll get added at a later point. Nothing will ever top 6's Mercenaries mode, however.

Oh, and there are multiple endings.

Just finished it, 11.5hrs
It was great!
I'm not bothered about mercs mode as I don't really enjoy open ended gameplay like that really

The second half is 😘👌

For those not as far, don't shoot enemies in locked cells. I won't say any more to avoid spoilers.

Finished Village--what a trip.

I was not expecting the game to be all the different types of bonkers that it was, but I was there for it at every turn.

Some of the best atmosphere, vibes, and unique environments in the entire series.

I have some minor gripes with the story (predictable) and the gameplay on the default difficulty (too easy), but neither of those things distracted me from the awesome freakshow this was.

I was leaning towards liking 7 more, but the further I got in this and the crazier it got, it almost feels unfair to compare them to each other since they are rather different experiences.

Oh it's fun, but now I'm in Raccoon City, and boy does it steal heavy from The Last of Us... the noises, the bloater style mutants, the way some of the zombies attack... it's borderline plagiarism.
I just got there... and remembered I forgot to go back and kill The Chef. 🤬

edit: Hopefully there was no injector in the pantry.

I don't recall there being anything of consequence in the pantry. Something for you to look forward to on play through #2 :)

I haven't played a Resident Evil game since Resident Evil 4. Recently, I popped in Resident Evil 2 remake and loved it. It was really cool what they did with the pace of the game and the whole Mr. X thing (reminds me of the moments from old school Resident Evil 3). I'm going to give the remakes a shot.

Is Resident Evil 4 on VR worth trying out?

This game on a PS5 Pro looks amazing. I kind of want it…but i dunno. 7 was too scary for me. Couldn’t play more than 15 minutes of it. Never tried 8.

8 jump-scared me a handful of times

couple of those were followed by a "JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!" and my wife checking to see if I was OK

I'll get the DLC next time it's on sale.

I still haven't done the 7 DLC either.

I don't get why 7 had 300 dlc releases while village had one. But eh

I didn't really rate the dlc story for Village.

Played the shit out of Ada's story in 4:remake though, that was great.

Good Lord f ing heart attack juice right there. RE7 was nothing compared to AI.
You spend a lot of time in 7 running and hiding but you eventually get weapons. In Alien: Isolation, you spend pretty much the entire game in stealth mode. None of the enemies are easy to defeat and the Alien is literally unkillable. But it's fun getting the Working Joes and the creature to attack the mercenaries when they show up in the 3rd act.

Just over 13.5 hours... guess I took my time; which is usually the case with my first play though.

Ha, I remember when I first completed the original PSX game, balking at the idea I could complete it under 3 hours to get the infinite rocket launcher.

Personally, I don't think that's necessary, unless they were planning on re-booting the entire series.

It makes sense they'd remake 0 and 1 alongside each other. I'm not normally a fan of remakes but Capcom does these so well. Hoping they'll get to Code Veronica eventually as it's got a lot of interesting ideas but the execution isn't quite there.
