What, it's an arcade system

Plus it doesn't even save scores on the home system
"Retro gaming of the future

While maintaining the original look and feel, the NEOGEO AES+ implements modern-day quality-of-life features such as low-latency HDMI display output (whilst also including the original AV output for CRT enthusiasts), DIP switches for language selection, overclocking and different display modes, and the ability to store permanent High Scores (Memory Card accessory required)."

The new system will let you save your high scores with the memory card.

Look how cool this thing looks. Those giant carts and controllers were very much a part of the Neo Geo experience. It's something you just can't get from emulation. I'm so hyped.

15 years ago I sold all my AES stuff, and I've regretted it ever since. It's time to fix that mistake. I'm in for an ultimate bundle.

Same here, though I couldn’t afford to buy back my original collection I did get the goobin itch and started another AES collection about 7-8 years ago

One thing certain from all these threads. No matter what happens at any point in your life…please DO NOT sell your Neo stuff (the OG of course).
obviously the rereleases will never get to the heights of the originals, but I bet that if they deliver, at least the games are going to be collectibles themselves after Plaion loses interest in printing more... they are supposed to be compatible with any AES system after all, and are official SNK releases.

The same thing would have happened with the Neo X by now if it wasn't an irredeemable piece of e-waste. :keke:

Definitely they will have some collectible value, even more so (in my opinion) things like Shock Troopers or BTG due to the added CD content etc.

This tries as close as possible to have a 1:1 match with the OG, but honestly giving the AES+ some distinct traits is all good for me. Otherwise it really would start to look like an NCI bootlegged console

We were talking about the system box, not the game boxes. It's ok but boring compared to the original.

Unibios will let you do the same on an original Neo Geo. Just put an exclamation point as the last character of the file user's name to enable it.

Indeed, been using this successfully for years. In this regards I wonder how the saving to memory card functionalities will work on the AES+ compared to an AES with Unibios. Probably they developed their own custom bios.
