Recommend good Wii games.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Mario Galaxy series. Seriously, Galaxy 2 is the best 3d mario game I have played in forever. Also, I got to play Goldeneye a few days ago at a show and it is the shit. The multiplayer at least is as I only played a few minutes of single player.

Bear in mind, I'm NOT a fan of Mario titles. I just include what I've got because the kids have them.

Yahtzee and I are in 100% agreement about the Mario series. Though, to be fair, I never even liked Mario Brothers or SMB1.

Oops. Sorry about that. Arcade compilations are very hit or miss. There's generally no single company that's made a bunch of games I've absolutely adored, or anything. Which ones were you thinking of?

As for gun games, it's a very occasional thing, for me. I've got HotD: Overkill, because it amuses me. The two RE ones are neat, but I'm not sure I need any others in my library. I'm much more a fan of straight-up action and/or action-RPG.

Mad Dog McRee Collection (its a compilation of some old American Laser Arcade games. They're all terrible, but in a way that makes them hilarious, at least to me. It's all FMV with community theater grade acting.)

If you like side-scrolling shooters:
Castle Shikigami 3
Ultimate Shooter Collection

Ghost Squad is great fun. But it seems like a game that should be on Dreamcast. Worthwhile though.

Gunblade & LA Machineguns are ok, if dated. Don't spend more than $10 on it.

Pinball Hall of Fame is great if you remember pinball as a kid. 360 /PS3 are better (They have more tables and leaderboards/achievements, although the PS3 version has pretty lazy trophies - Just beat a high score instead of completing goals like in 360)

If you want to try some of the Wii Ware titles, I'd recommend both Lost Winds titles (Lost Winds and Lost Winds: Winter of the Melodias).

It's a platformer. You control the character with the nunchuck; the wiimote is used to control the "wind". As you play the game you unlock various abilities to access new areas (a-la-Metroid).

The second game continues the storyline of the first, so it would be better to start with the first game.

Punch Out actually lets you use the WiiFit board for dodging as well as the wiimote/nunchuk for punching, but anything aside from just using the controller sideways blows. Definitely get Punch Out though; one of the best titles for the Wii. I'd also suggest getting Boom Blox. It's cheap, has a great solo mode, and the multi-player is amazing.
