Questions for those with massive collections

I'm trying to update my Neo Poke software FAQ with a few last bits of info. Luckily I found this board that seems to have a couple people complete or nearly complete collections.

So, a few questions:

1) can anyone supply me with a complete list of games that were distributed with the German/Italian/English packaging? And were all the same games released with Spanish/French packaging, too?

2) which B&W games were released in North America? How about in Europe/Asia? I suspect that all of the dual-language games plus Puzzle Link were released in both regions, but I'm not sure.

3) what are the catalog numbers for the B&W version of Dokodemo Mahjong, the English version of Puzzle Link B&W and the Japanese version of Neo Baccarat?

4) does the Japanese version of Faselei! support the wireless link? What about the Japanese versions of Neo 21 and Neo Baccarat?

Any help you can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Have a look at Pocket Domain:

http://www.pocketdomain.net/games.php?neogeo=on

The database should answer most of your questions and any other information that you lot can add would be much appreciated I'm sure :)

Cheers

Ahh, a fellow addict ....

Hi, are you the original Sweater Fish ?

If so, it was your NGPC list from a couple of years ago that started me collecting Neo Geo Pockets. :)
You've got a lot to answer for !
My bank manager isn't happy with you :)

Welcome to the forum !

Re your queries ...

1. I think this could be a hard one to confirm, unless someone only has new copies. I'll double check mine and see if there are any I can confirm.

2. I don't believe any B & W games were released in North America.
Re Europe, I believe there were the following released:
NEOP0001 King of fighters R1
NEOP0002 Neo Geo Cup 98
NEOP0007 Baseball Stars
NEOP0008 Samurai Shodown
NEOP0009 Pocket Tennis
NEOP0014 Neo Cherry Master
Re Asia, I believe there were the following B & W released:
NEOP00010 King of fighters R1
NEOP00020 Neo Geo Cup 98
NEOP00040 Melon Chan's Growth Diary
NEOP00050 Master of Syougi
NEOP00070 Baseball Stars
NEOP00080 Samurai Spirits !
NEOP00090 Pocket Tennis
NEOP00120 Renketsu Puzzle Tsunagete Pon!
NEOP00140 Neo Cherry Master

3. I wasn't aware of a B & W Dokodemo Mahjong, or an English B & W Puzzle Link (i.e. NEOP0012).
Neo Baccarat Japanese is NEOP00190 (It will also play in English).

4. The Japanese versions of Neo Baccarat, and Neo 21 (NEOP00180) both support the wireless link.
The Japanese Faselei (NEOP00510) does not support it.

I stand to be corrected on the B & W games, but the rest is definitely correct.
Hope that helps.

Cheers :)

I am most certainly *NOT* the original Sweater Fish, I am Sweater Fish *DELUXE*!

But anywho, it's nice to know that someone enjoyed perusing that list and maybe even ruined their life over it. It makes me all warm and fullfilled inside. That list is what I'm trying to expand into a full FAQ (for what purpose, I don't know...I'm out of work and it's Winter Break at college, so I gots to do something, right?)

1. I was hoping that if a couple people like nigeronpa had complete European collections, they'd be able to tell me which games had the three language packaging. Why would they have to be new copies?

Since I'm in the US, I only have a few of them; Biomotor Unitron, Pocket Tennis and Crush Roller. And a friend of mine in France confirms that he's seen Crush Roller with French/Spanish/English packaging.

2. B&W games were available in the US via mail order from SNK's US website for a couple months. How were they distributed in Europe?

3. I'm pretty sure there is a B&W Dokodemo Mahjong, it was listed on SNK's website which I have backed up; it's number should be NEOP0006(1), but I just can't confirm it. It's possible that it wasn't actually released, I suppose.

Someone I know swears he had a B&W copy of Puzzle Link in English and there is a space for it at NEOP0013, but I'm not sure on that one.

Thanks for the info on Baccarat.

4. Have you tried the Japanese Faselei with the wireless link? According to SNK's site it is supposed to support it and the game's desription even includes a mention of a multiplayer 'Melee Mode' that sounds like it would be more than two player. I do have my doubts, though.

Anyway, thanks a lot.

The same. Sector: NGP's message board (ring) is still my favorite, but mostly just for random stuff. I see that there's a lot more Neo Poke talk going on here.

Thanks for the help everyone. Especially nigeronpa (you know, it hit me a while ago that the "ronpa" part of Nigeronpa is actually just the Japanese way of saying "Romper," I'm not sure what Nige means since it's in hiragana, but Nige Romper is the real title). The information on which games had specifically European packaging has been a hole in my list for a while and it will be nice to fill it in. I assume that all of the first generation of games were packaged that way, but I wonder when it ended? For instance, were Sonic or Match of the Millenium sold that way at any time? Or even Pacman?

Oh, and snkneogeousaCTH, you're not the same person as Clap Hands from alt.videogames.neogeo are you? It would be good to have two independent sources verifying the existence of the English Puzzle Link. If you are Clap Hands, hey man, how's it going? Remember me? I posted as Diogenes the Dog.

Good.

Also, does anyone here know if the games that were were sold with the three language packaging were later sold with only English packaging? Because it occured to me that these are probably the same games that were initially sold in the US with clamshell cases (everything up until Pacman), but all those games were also later sold in the US with cardboard boxes.
