Question for all you fighter fans

Hello all,

I haven't really been able to post much on here as of late for I have been crazy busy with other things as of late.

Anyways getting to the point, my team and I have been creating a 2d fighting game for about 3 months now (more on the game with bio's and story as well as the mechanics in the coming month, I will post a link to the website soon). I am the lead developer as well as creative developer and I have ran into a bit of stump. In the game I am very big on making unique and interesting characters and not really following the stereotypical types such as a RYU or KEN clone or the Lone Wolf Terry Bogard and Blue Mary.

My question is, how many female fighters in fighting game history do you know of that have an umbrella as a weapon? Excluding Rachel Alucard from BlazBlue and Shizimaru from Samurai Series.

Mai has one, but doesn't use it as a weapon. I'm sure someone in Soul Calibur has had an umbrella at some point.

hmmm if i am not mistaken i thought Mai used a fan as a somewhat use of a weapon? i could be mistaken though haha.

and i will see what i could do with a kung fu man with a bench as a weapon haha. i do not think he would really fit in with the games setting as its dark and gritty, but i digg the outfit haha

Can't think of many that use an umbrella. I tell you what though, I wouldn't mind seeing a tranny character wielding a 25lb floppy dildo. Imagine that.

Yeah that might not fit well. Keep it in mind for a future project!

For some reason, I seem to recall Hibiki from Last Blade having one in some of her pre or post fight animatinos, but I am probably wrong about this. It's just in my head, for some reason, that I saw her with one at some point. Maybe in one of the images from the Hanafuda card game from the DC port of LB 2.

Indeed dark and gritty. At first I was looking at the style of Oswald's- The Penguin umbrella but thought I wouldn't really want Christian (the characters name) to have an assortment of gadgets in the umbrella. She is more of a not so fragile type of girl but on the outside appears that way.

I was about to post "Hibiki" as well, but I checked Google Images first and couldn't find a pic of her with an umbrella.

It must be one of her animations.

Ryoga from the Ranma 1/2 fighting games might use an umbrella in some of his attacks. But Ryoga's a male.

Princess Peach. I forgot which game it is that she uses an unbrella to fight.

Okuni from the Samurai Warriors series. Not really a fighting game, but she has a very diverse range of attacks.

Thank you all very much for the responses and help. I am very pleased too see what I have gotten in return of asking the question. If you all would like, I will post up the characters portrait, bio and animation in about a week or so if desired.

I did some research and I have an awesome image of what Christian will look like.

I will start another thread about the game that will contain artwork and biographies, and to see what you all think of the game and the blueprints soo far.

Have it so that the umbrella blows inside out - and then she uses that. Or make that like a Dan taunt move.
