Finally managed to track down a copy, locally, for the DS.

Easily the best game I've played this year.

Bejeweled + RPG = giddy joyjoy secks.

Should stay in my DS until Sim City DS is released in June.

Yup a very addicting game for ds but so glitchy. I've had mine freeze as soon as I won a battle and countless times has it glitched when using spells and touching gems. But it's still the only thing im playing for ds. very fun and challening and worth the money.

Hey kids, for those of you playing the game, lend me a hand and tell me what your max hp is. I'm formulating a first-turn (no later than 2nd-turn) KO and I think I may have it, but I need to know the ceiling for hp.

Oh yes, those playing this over X360 XBLA shall receive my rath!

I don't know if a ceiling for HP matters, since you can just keep buying morale upgrades even after you max out your level... especially since the higher your morale the more death gaze will ruin your day. Fear of a counter death gaze rush keeps me at around 180 max HP.

The more I play this game, the more I'm starting to realize patience pays off. If you go for the first gems you see, you will lose. You have to think ahead to what gems you need for spells and when to get skulls, or even when to forfeit a turn or use a spell.

Yeah that's the whole point and what makes it a good puzzle game and not some mindless crap. If you don't pay attention you'll get your ass beat. So yeah...anyone else having problems with glitches in their ds version?

I ran across a minor glitch where the screen to choose options at the citadel was super-imposed over the shop menu. And the Guy who does damage to machines at the beginning of the round isn't doing his thing. Otherwise, no glitches.

I wanted to revive this thread for anyone who might have missed this game on release... I picked it up after reading this thread for both the PSP and DS - I`ve been playing the PSP version and my wife is playing it on her DS. I`ve reached level 22 or so, and she`s at about level 18. Neither of us has run into any glitches or hangs. Both of us are completely addicted to this game! :)

I`ve found patience and caution have paid off for me throughout the game so far, but I haven`t the Death Gaze spell yet. I`m playing as a Warrior, my wife as a Druid... she`s a little more `damn the torpedoes` in her playing style though, so she`s suffered a few more defeats than I along the way...

It`s really a great game - highly recommended.

BUMP!

I finally picked this up for DS a few weeks ago and plowed through it. I never got into bejeweled before, but I liked it here. The game was surprisingly easy on "normal" mode, but I didn't mind. I'd love to play someone human at it, but I don't know if anyone I know is practiced at it.

The sci-fi themed sequel is scheduled for a Q4 2008 release, I look forward to it.

Can anyone recommend any similar games to this? I liked the RPG element, though I was sad that it only covered seemingly 60% of the map.

I really can't think of any other games like it. There is a DS game called Jewel Quest that got decent reviews. It has a story (horrible) and over 150 bejewled type levels but it sounds like you don't really care for Bejeweled.

Maybe someone else can think of a game but I love puzzle games and nothing comes to mind.
