All you need is a Pandora battery, and Magic Stick. Once you have both of these, simply remove your original battery, insert the Magic Stick, and your Pandora battery. At this point you'll see some memory stick activity, and a menu. (this takes a few seconds or so) Follow the on screen instructions to install your custom firmware. If you don't see a menu at first, you should be able to hit "X" to install.
The easiest way to go is to simply borrow the Pandora / MS combo from a friend (since you'll only need it once), but if you can't do that:
Assuming you don't have access to a custom firmware Phat PSP, you can disassemble, and hardware mod an official Sony Phat PSP battery to create a Pandora. If you don't want to mod anything, you can purchase a Pandora or "TOOL" battery for 7-8 dollars from an HK retailer such as Deal Extreme.
At this point you will need your Pandora battery, PSP Slim (stock firmware), a USB to mini-USB cable, and a *SPARE* memory stick pro duo which is greater than 32MB, but less than 2GB. Wouldn't recommend using your good memory stick for this. Something around 512MB or so is safe, because it's cheap, and provides plenty of space.
From here, you'll need to download a Pandora Installer. (one of the later versions) pspupdates.qj.net will have several available for download. Insert your (soon to be Magic Stick) memory stick pro duo, and connect your PSP via it's USB cable. (enable "USB Mode" on the PSP to connect) Run the installer on a Windows XP based system. (Yeah, I don't care for Windows much either, but most of the installers are Windows based.

) You will see a "PSP Slim" option, and another option to create a Magic Stick. Choose these options, and give the program a little time to finish.
You should now have a working Pandora battery, and Magic Stick combo.
