Man, I'm sorry you had to be subjected to Burnout Dominator. I'm a fan of Burnout, but that game is a pile of turds.

The CPS2/Neo stuff is pretty straight forward. Get the games you want and then get the latest CPS2 emulator if the one you have on there already isn't the most current. You can just do a search on QJ.net or, what I do is do a tag search on the DCemu.uk message boards for the name of the emu I'm searching for. Usually the most current thread has links to the most current version of said emulator (version 2.3.1 is the one you want BTW). Once you get that, just run the program packed in with the emu that makes cache files on all your roms. A lot of them it won't need to make cache files, it'll just skip those. If it gives you an error on any of them or they don't boot up when you try them, you have the wrong version (probably older) of that particular game. Have fun looking for the right version. I still can't find the proper versions of a handful of Neo games that interest me.

Also, because you only have a 2 gig card, you're going to want to pick the games out you're actually going to play and not just horde every title. With a cache file for any game, it's like you're doubling up because it's pretty much the same size as the rom itself.

haha, yeah that game wont be staying on my memory card for long :) Thanks for the explanation, that was really good, looks like it wont be too big a problem getting those CPS2 games. I dont plan on getting all the games...just ones I know I will play. Definitely Mars Matrix and Pro Gear...and maybe some CPS1 stuff do.
I do think I will get another memory card though....maybe have this 2 gb dedicated to CPS2 and MVS stuff...and a 4gb one for some PSP and PSX games....we shall see.

thanks again :)

if you have your system hacked, I highly recommend getting SotN, and then adding Rondo of Blood with the PCE emu. Rondo is ok, with some glitches, but it's definitely nice to look at on the PSP screen.

actually i was thinking of getting some games for the PCE/TG. Not that it really matters, but do they play full screen?

you can set them to full screen, iirc... But overall, the PCE emu is ok. A few glitches here and there, like if you use savestates, but those may have been corrected by now.

Every emu I've used will play full screen. But it is stretching the image, so to some, it looks better windowed full. Just personal preference really though.

BTW, have you ever played Mars Matrix in the Arcade? It takes some major getting used to playing with the one button scheme if you're used to playing it on Dreamcast. I never touch it on the PSP because of this. You really need a joystick and button to press with your finger tips. Also, don't be afraid to play those verts sideways. Playing shmups in tate on the system may seem weird at first, but it's quite comfortable once you get used to it. Just set rapid fire to R and the rest to whatever face buttons feel most comfy for your thumb.

Got CPS1 and CPS2 running last night! Hmm, I never played Mars Matrix in the arcade but I have it on dreamcast (probably my favorite shooter on that console)...and you are right...the controls feel so weird...i was kinda bummed. I guess its still nice to have, but prolly wont see much play from me on the psp.

Oh yeah, and did play a couple of games in TATE...surprisingly it didnt feel too bad. I didnt remap any buttons yet, but i think mapping auto to the r trigger sounds like a good idea. Will definitely try tonight.

So whats the word on PSX games....do actually need any emulator to play them, or do just put them in the same folder as the PSP isos? I wanna try R-type Delta :D

No emulator needed, they're self-contained files. You can find the more common games already packaged up as eboots and ready to go via google. You can also make your own eboots by making an ISO image of your PSX disc then running it through Popstation GUI.

Does this work on ALL PSX games? And do you run this Popstation GUI program on your PC or PSP? Thanks.

Well a few things:
1.) You don't need the GUI to run popstation. It has a very easy to use command line sequence.
2.) No it won't work with all PSX games you have to play with different versions to get it to work with a specific game if it's acting up (see Brave Fencer Musashi, Chrono Trigger).
3.)If you want to play a multidisk game you'll need the multidisk popstation.
4.)Your psp needs to be hacked already to make your own Playstation eboots.

FYI, the Popstation GUI I was referring to was the PC program. It's just an easy to use interface for making eboots on your PC. There is a Popstation to run on PSP, but if you're making your eboots with PGUI, it's not even needed.

Sorry to hijack this even further, but has anyone done the internal D-Pad mod on a fat PSP and can comment on it? Honestly, it's easy to take off a PSP's faceplate (which has the D-Pad) and I think I'd prefer to do this mod rather than a stick-on enhancement.

If you're confident you can do it without getting dust in there, I say go for it. I'm not taking the chance when the stick-on pads are $5 and work great.

Getting dust in there is not a problem for the d-pad. Only for the screen area and even then it's not that big of a problem.

Get a large clean container. Open the faceplate then quickly move the PSP inside the container. Works for me.

I'd still fuck it up and get dust in there.

But that's just me. :D

Thought I'd post an update for anyone wondering about the D-Pad mod.

I'm almost done installing mine (only need to glue it down), but the internal mod is absolutely worth it. I was doing moves on SFA3 just fine, and in Gradius I was weaving dodging and wiggling around really damn well. The D-Pad feels kinda clicky and not mushy like the stock D-Pad.

To protect dust from getting in your PSP, just leave the cover off as little as possible, and take out just the D-Pad, and then put the cover back on. My PSP doesn't have any extra dust in it.

Oh, and for those that want to preserve a NES sleeve, a Mead 5 Star notebook cover just happens to be the same thickness. I found this out after cutting up a NES sleeve.

Now to harness the power of hot glue and fix this in place... I freaking hate hot glue.

edit: What I did was use school glue to hold on the mod, and place the D-pad and mod between two paperbacks I don't care about (for flexibility), then stack a bunch of heavy stuff on that for about a half hour. That seems to have worked just fine so far. Man, it's great to just cram this in a pocket and not worry about anything sticking out on the top.

The phat seem kinda easier to hold but it feels like it is going to slip out of my hands at any second, and slim is good, but it feels like it is going to break easily, plus if you want to mod a slim, you will need a phat already running custom firmware or a magic mem stick and a pandora's battery. If you just want to play games, Id say phat, because the way the slim is, the joystick stresses your thumb way more, and the newer features aren't really worth it as long as they keep making firmware upgrades.
