PSP/DS Region Free?

Hey guys, anyone know for sure if both of the new handhelds are region free? Cheers for any help

PSP is supposed to be region free, but as TonK says, it cant be confirmed until it gets released in another region. Something interesting to note is that games do carry a region number on the box.

Rumor has it on the PSP Ridge Racers UMD it says "Region 2...

If Sony lied about the PSP being region free it will blow.

In an interview over at Gamespot Masa Chatani, Corporate Executive & CTO for SCEI confirmed that the PSP is Region free for games. It's region locked for Audio and movie UMDs.

The majority of reports said the device would allow region-free gaming but slap the usual geographic restrictions on premade audio and video content on its universal media discs. Not that I trust Gamespots rumor mill a whole lot as it's generally useless...but Sony isn't giving me a lot of faith when "Region 2" is marked on their games.

Well I don't see a Region number on any other games....funny that.

I guess we'll find out for sure soon enough.
