Price Check: Dimahoo - doesn't need to be, but I prefer green as it'll match my other CPS2 games :).

Other things I want:

Q-Sound amp

Cabinets:
Darius
Sagaia
Ninja Masters
Candy cabs - Preferably a New Astro City or an Exceleena. I'm open to everything though! Especially run-down ones that need some TLC!

PCB's:
Boogie Wings
Ibara (kit)
R-Type

Aside from PCB's they must be within a 6 or so hour drive from 04005. Either that or one hell of a deal on a monitor or cab to try and make up for shipping prices :).

BUMP
To be more specific, I want the 3 screen version. I don't see the point in paying extra for the 2 screen. Is Sagaia or Darius 1 quite so pricey? YAJ has a 2 screen Darius 2 for $1500, board only..

Looking for a Darius 1 or 2 or Sagaia cabinet as well, don't know how easy they are to come by, perhaps someone can lmk.

The 3 screen Darius cab was released in the US, but I have never seen a Darius 2 cab other than a Euro (Sagaia) and the JP one. Ninja Warriors was released in the US using the same cab as Darius, so it should easy to get the original Darius running on it. Good luck with you search!

Looking for a 25" Monitor! Like almost desperately. Someone help me out please? Within 6 hours or so's drive, or willing to ship and decently priced? I've had two sellers start a transaction and bail on me.. :(

I had one for sale, wish I had seen this. I still have the monitor, but I went ahead and sold the chassis, so I don't think it'll do you much good. Send me a PM if it would still be any good to you.

the monitor? It should have 3? Which are you referring to, sir? lol. If you're talking a tube and sold the chassis, what tube is it? If it's for the Nanao stock monitor I'd prefer, then it'd be worth the drive or shipping as I've seen the chassis for sale elsewhere...

Ah, your original post was kind of vague. I thought you just wanted any old 25" monitor. Nevermind then.

No no, ANY monitor is fine. Nanao preferred, any is good.

And for whatever reason I got confused thinking you were talking about the Darius cabinet, lol.

I know that member Art of Fighting had a 3 screen Ninja Warriors for sale in Pennsylvania, not sure if he still has it or not. He's a totally awesome guy, so shoot him a PM.

GFront has the original 3 Screen Darius 2 pcb with harness for 128,000yen...

Is this REALLY a $1000 PCB, or is it just a bloated pricing since there aren't any on the market currently?

@SuperDeadite I'll definitely be sending him a PM. PA is well within my means.

I think you're best bet for finding a Nanao MS8 might be to peruse your local craigslist and look for people selling one of the older sega cabs that these came in. Virtua Fighter, Daytona USA, Scud Race etc.... I believe even those double WWF Naomi cabs have MS8's in them as well.

I ultimately ended up scoring 2 of these just by asking random dudes selling these cabinets if they would be interested in parting out the monitors. In both cases, mine came from Virtua Fighter cabs and given they are not that popular I offered them 250 for the monitors/chassis (both of which were in excellent, no burn condition) and they eagerly accepted.

One of the fellas I bought mine from had another one in a different cabinet that he was trying to sell me so I could contact him on your behalf if you'd like. Keep in mind I did not see the monitor so I can't speak on the condition of it. According to him it was working fine with no burn-in. He was asking the same price 250.00 for it but then you have to consider you will have to have it shipped which could be in excess of at least 80.00 via UPS. Not sure if he would even want to ship it honestly but its worth a shot.

For your purposes-- I think you'll find that getting the original monitor (nanao) is going to save you alot of headaches. For one it is a far superior monitor and secondly that cabinet is designed around the Nanao MS8 frame so it should be an easy drop in... so using something else might force you to figure out an alternative mounting solution... saying nothing of the fact that the Nanao will always look better, even after 10 + years of use in comparison to a WG or similar.

Forgot to mention-- if you find one locally and have a chance to test it out live... make sure to test the pots (located on the front of the frame at the bottom) but specifically the horizontal width coil... these are notorious for crapping out on these monitors and are a real pain in the ass to replace. As every game displays differently, you will certainly need the ability to adjust the horizontal size output on a per game basis. One of mine was bad and I had to live with some games being a little small on the display and some games beyond the borders of the display.

Sam, regarding Tango's post - I agree for the most part. One thing that I'd like to know, though - will you be using it for vert, hori, or change between the two?

Personally, I suggest going vert and keeping it that way, or at worst going hori and staying like that - to go hori, you will have to remove the monitor frame; if you want it to be vert, you can leave the frame fully intact.

Thats true... an aero city cabinet afforded plenty of room to switch with ease between the two... if you plan on keeping the cab for yourself though there is nothing to say you cant cut the frame back.

I would think though that having a cocktail cabinet where the monitor is for the most part on its back naturally would allow one the freedom of switching between hori and vert with ease. Those 25 inchers certainly are not too heavy for one person alone to heft in an upright so it should be even easier in that set-up. Assuming you didnt mind cutting the frame back.

The problem comes in when you have a cut monitor frame, and get either careless, or overloaded, while trying to rotate the monitor - then the back of your monitor has no protection, and if you lose your balance and can't continue to support the monitor, you're out $250+.... Not worth risking it, if you have another cab, imho.

Also, I'd be willing to wager that Sam weighs less than 2/3 what most of us do, so I'd guess it wouldn't be as easy for her to tate it herself as it would be for, say, TonK.

No you're totally right about that! But I'm not saying to remove the monitor frame entirely. It has the 2 long arms that stretch back behind it and hook underneath where the chassis attaches to. Depending on what the cause of the obstruction is inside the cabinet those can easily be cut away and then reinforced again with any kind of material to re-connect the section that was cut away.

Ive actually have done this on a few MS8 monitors and the neck of the monitor was never endangered or put in a more compromising position.

Shit, I thought I had some pictures of how I did it but again they seem to have been lost when my last computer took a coffee bath.

What exactly is the source of obstruction inside the aero table? The frame itself extends way beyond being near the actual tube neck so I am sure there is an easy solution to the problem. But this all might be moot depending on her intended uses for the cab. Seems like she has more then one so having a diverse cabinet might not even be an issue here...

Sry for the OT Miss bean.

Eh... we're bumping her thread and providing relevant info - I doubt she minds TOO much. ;)

the 'bottom' part of the frame, where the chassis mounts too, is definitely an obstruction. I believe the top bars may be an obstruction as well, but I can't tell for sure due to the other obstruction.

ahhh. That might be a tough work around then. The obvious solution would be to remove the chassis but I'd wager there is not much room inside the cabinet itself and having a loose chassis only increases the likelihood of wires becoming entangled or ensnared which could be way more disastrous.

Great work, both of you guys by the way in breathing life back into these cabinets. I passed recently on a really rare Kyotaro cabinet that needed restoration as I really did not think I had it in me to do again. Time wise. I certainly know how much time and money goes into these projects-- but enjoying the process and learning as you go is half the fun and getting to enjoy the fruits of your labor are even more fun!

Oh, man... that's sad. I've never seen a Kyotaro, or even heard mention of one before.

I'm finally starting to feel like everything is coming together on mine, though it doesn't feel real yet..... I need to find my damned camera and post some pics!
