Razo, how are you liking the super nt?

Love it, thinking about selling my original SFC. Only Drawback is I can't get the scanlines feature to look right in 1080p. I'm probably in the Minority but I like to take advantage of my whole 50 inch screen and stretch it out instead of playing 4:3. I also don't have any issues with Lag playing with my 8bitdo black wireless controller. Digging the black color as well and glad I went with that instead of the clear.

Also, check out the Smoke Monster Firmware updates. You could run games off SD instead of Flash Cart and they added Copy Snes and Cheat Features.

Nice to hear some good feedback from some here l on it. I was wondering about the controllers. I hadn't really heard much about them. I've seen some reviews on the system itself but not the controllers. Have you tried running the games of of SD? I know some games had issues. There were ones the SD2SNES could play that it couldn't and vice-versa. Hopefully that gets squared away down the road.

Both, but it’s a shared collection with my twin brother so I can’t pretend it’s all mine. Only system we own without original carts is Wonderswan but we don’t have a flash cart for that either (picked it up as “junk” visiting Japan last year).

We’ve been using backup units and flash carts since we were kids in the ‘90s (Game Doctor 7, V64, V64jr, GB Xchanger, etc) but we still earned and kept legit games despite some... setbacks (fire, theft, loss, etc). Never used them to avoid the real thing!

The modern flash carts are really good for convenience and testing. Last few days we’ve been doing a lot of UltraHDMI and Hi-Def NES installs, some RGB mods and OSSC testing, where they have been particularly useful. That said, we love playing the originals wherever possible (please excuse the mess on the floor):

Couch covers Sega CD, 32X, Saturn, PSX, Atari 2600, 7800, 5200, and more.

Last I checked, that’s what the thread was for. ;) Lucky for you I’m sticking to Neo stuff or else you’d hear me drone on about pics of the 20x UltraHDMI I unexpectedly received Wednesday or the Voultar N64 RGB bypass I received and installed the day before or the HD Retrovision cables and adapters we got a few days before that or... you get the picture.

Nice collection!

Glad to hear. The only issue I've had with the controller is I think it sometimes misses imputs during intense gameplay but that could totally be my lack of skill at Mega Man x2.

On a side note, you stretch the picture to widescreen??? So you're the person responsible for them even having that sacrilegious feature.

Amazon has mixed reviews on the controllers. Some People saying that the Directional pad is to sensitive but I had no issues. Was able to pull special moves off fine playing SFIIT. You could also sync other controllers with the 8bitdo receiver like the Switch Pro Controller and that works great.

Yes, I haven't ran into any issues yet with the running my favorite games off the SD. The Latest Smoke Monster update I know added some fixes to some games that were having issues. The Special Chip Games don't work and even Mega Man X3 doesn't work off the SD but works fine when I have my SD2Snes plugged in.

I'm pretty sure with future updates this device is only going to get better. Hopefully some updates that allow us to play Megadrive and Nes games as well.

it might be the controller as others have said the same thing on Amazon. You could sync other controllers like the PS4 and Switch Controller I think. Definitely the Switch Controller as I tried that one.

Yea, I stretched that shit to fit the whole screen and I think it looks great. Would look even better with scanlines but I can live without them.

You probably already know that it doesn’t include the matching controllers. I’m a huge fan of 8bitdo’s controllers but, unfortunately, their D-pad has the same issue as NES Classic Edition: diagonals are too easy, leading to unintended diagonals. You might never notice but I can’t even play some games like this.

The problem on NES CE was caused by the D-pad pivot being too small. The fix was to swap in an original NES D-pad or raise it with tape:
https://youtu.be/pRnldygqYsA

The matching Super Nt BT controllers have almost identical replicas of the original SNES D-pad but the pivot is slightly smaller. I tried swapping them here:
https://youtu.be/gO9w1uzgZvI

The results were a clear improvement but unintended diagonals were not completely eliminated. It can be further improved by covering the innermost part of every contact with tape. Every contact has redundant connections so it will still work but diagonals will be much improved (more deliberate).

Most people will never notice these issues but I honestly can’t recommend them without mentioning it. My FC30 set, NES30, NES30 Pro, etc are all perfect.

Nice collection!

Thanks. Tempted to pick something really contrarian, like Virtual Boy (Warioland is great), but I gotta go with SNES. I never got the same competitive experience with online services like I had playing in the BBV WVG Championships II or playing against the world’s best Killer Instinct players on X-BAND.

I prefer mine:

I thought I'd share a couple of my gaming pickups today even though they aren't Neo Geo-related:

NO, this is not an April Fools joke. If it were, saying this would ruin any potential humor. I'm seriously worried about it causing trouble for the flea market vendor since he's been a valuable resource for game hunting. I am a little concerned that he obviously isn't testing his games though. ;)

Probably thought the cart had an adapter due to the added weight.
Discussed that for a moment but quickly dismissed it. We’ve found adapters in that vendor’s games in the past too (and brought it to his attention), but we quickly realized that these were 3-screw games with security screws. Adapters are typically in 5-screw games with slotted screws. No adapters have ever been found in these to my knowledge. Probably not in PAL games either.

That was a good buy.
