Had no idea Bloodlines was called Vampire Killer in Japan. Just keep on learning stuff.
Yup, the pal version was New Generation.

Nice! Truth be told, I actually like Castlevania Bloodlines and Contra Hard Corps over Super Castlevania IV and Contra III. As for TMNT, is it a rarity on the MD? I know it's fairly uncommon on the Genesis. Either way, good games!![]()
Congrats on the purchase! Those look amazing!

Damn, dusty as hell. Is that your setup or the guy on KLOV?
Hopefully that's the inside of his cab. That he plays dusty arcade games in, instead of worrying about label condition and how the carts would look on a shelf.
Haha, very true. If the game works, I'm good. I've been seeing a few people that are looking to repro a completely good legit label just because the serials were scratched off... I mean wtf is the point?!

Several weeks ago, I picked up my first arcade board; a Neo Geo MV-1C with an obvious boot of KOF 2k2 (Super!) included.

Kinda wish the previous owners hadn't seen fit to etch that number into the plastic, but not much I can do about that.

The board itself appears to be in pretty good shape, my poorly-executed sound mod notwithstanding.
Having never messed with arcade hardware (outside of playing others' cabinets), I couldn't even test the thing, so I've been slowly gathering materials with which to test/play the thing.

The board in the bottom left fits over the Jamma edge connector, and provides screw-terminals for power/ground and video, as well as AES-compatible DA-15 controller ports. (The seller, it happens, had failed to solder the controller-port pins, but that was easy enough to fix once the fault was identified.) The power terminals are currently connected to a barrel socket for the power supply I'm using, a USB port to power a cheap pair of speakers, and the power lead for the right hand board: a GBS-8200. I know, it's not a good solution to getting video off the Neo Geo, but I was trying to get something quick which would Just Work. (Fat load of good that did - I had to seek out help to get it to stop showing still-frames of colorful garbage, as I couldn't navigate the default, Chinese menus.)

Again, trying to get something quickly which would Just Work, this was the only Neo Geo-compatible controller I could find shipping from the correct continent. And it sucks. Whomever modded it apparently didn't wanna bother exposing copper at unimportant points on the board, so the solder blobs actually impair the rubber's ability to lay flat, making certain buttons difficult to register. But it'll have to do until I get my hands on something better.
Between the controller ports, the controller, the sound mod, and some initial difficulties with the video converter, I've had a tumultuous time trying to turn this into something playable. But it does function, and that pleases me.
