This is a beta of a native PC port of Final Fight written from scratch in C++. It has the following features:
* Supports any aspect ratio (4:3, 16:9, ultrawide, 1:1)
* Refresh rate independent so it can play at 60hz or a silky smooth 240hz
* Up to 10 players at once
* Up to 7.1 sound support
* You can select CPS1, X68000, Roland MT-32, or Sega CD sound tracks
* Every player can select the same character
* No friendly fire
* Many new abilities for Haggar, Cody, and Guy such as air pile drivers, charging attacks, knock back attacks, wall jumping off enemies, etc.
* All enemies in the game are playable as well as the heroes (not all enemies are done yet; Guy, Haggar, Cody, Damnd, Andore, Abigail, Rolento, Sodom, and Belger are the farthest along)
* Endless stages
* Backgrounds significantly enhanced to have 8+ layers of parallax
* Runs at native CPS1 resolutions on CRTs and even a native 16:9 mode at its native resolution on 16:9 CRTs if you have a GroovyMAME capable setup
This was an experiment to get a feel for dynamically generating game levels for different aspect ratios. This is what it looks like to give you an idea:
