Bloat ware from a MSI - macs don't come with bloat ware.

You turn a Mac on and it works.

Buying this MSI, possibly.

Tonk that computer I linked you the other day when you said thanks but no thanks for a Mac is superior to that Bestbuy crap and costs around $150 less. Plus the one I linked you can upgrade like a normal PC later on if you want a better CPU or something in there or another hard drive, the big box stuff has everything but the hard drive and ram chips soldered in there so you can't do a thing, you're stuck.

Check that link I did, with this weekend I would not be surprised if they ran a sale. When I got my PC back then it was a christmas sale the entire month of December and it has a nice sale going on it too as it should have been more than I paid.

Edit -- time saver, here's the link again: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8171-clevo-p670rp6.html?startcustomization=1

I don't know, sure an email or call would answer that fairly quick. Those specs on their own look ok, not truly fantastic, but you have to remember it's a 'do it yourself' like setup you usually only see with a tower/desktop computer. All parts are modular, anything can be upgraded within the limitations of the motherboard capabilities. More ram, better/faster CPU can be thrown in, if the bios/pins don't limit it maybe a nicer GPU down the line.

I ordered this today:

Really appreciate the help - I'm not about upgrading anything or taking shit apart. That laptop should do good for a few years. Plus it's not that much money.

I like its build quality upon further inspection.

Looks solid. Got me beat +1 generation on the video even if it has 2GB less RAM it won't show, and then the little boot SSD too. That should last you a good 5 years probably or until it eats it.

So a bunch of shit went on sale at Best Buy today - retuned the 1060 and got the 970 - same exact specs minus 3gb of vram.

Saved over $400 - and it works fantastic on WoW - got used to it in less than 2 hours.

Great laptop.

Figured I'm not gonna need the 1060 anytime soon.

Seems reasonable and with the savings it made a lot of sense given what you really care about. We're taking ancient WoW which has been upgraded and expanded over time, not some high end game that is cross released with the modern consoles like No Man's Sky or DOOM of all things. What suits you is that, and even at that point the 970 itself isn't crap and won't be crap for a good few years too. Even the high end stuff will run for a good stretch on medium or a mix of low-medium settings where it's not depressing.

I figured for what I was doing, it was a no brainer.

A fact: I did something very stupid with the money I got back. (WoW related)

Same here I don't want a tower either, space/power use(plug) usage being the reasons. I've got a 5ft long desk that already has 2 work screens and a desktop on the floor standing sideways for work, and a third screen dead center for this laptop. I don't have room for another full blown PC so I went with a laptop that can do the same (part swapping and all if need be.) Sure it cost me a few hundred extra but it was worth it even if I rarely make it portable.

Yeah, same. Well, not the same shit you own. But I'll never take this laptop out of the house. I just enjoy sitting in the recliner like an old fuck playing WoW.

Basically spent $1200 to play WoW :/

I spent more to play games and other crap even older than that, but also just for long term use as I knew something good for PC would pop up I'd like -- mainly for my desk, but at times for the coffee table, couch, or lap in my comfy chair too. I would take it out somewhere, but it would have to be like to a local home, nothing too public as I'd fear it getting busted and definitely not on an airplane as I had some douche crush a handheld Nintendo device of mine with a carry-on years ago giving it a cracked screen.

I run a msi gtx970 on my desktop and get close to 100fps. I was dipping into the 50's and 40's during the invasions when there was a lot going on. Bought this right after WoD came out and was getting 150+ fps at times. Also settings maxed.

Agreed. Granted I'm only level 102 about to hit 103 and mainly just quest and get owned in PVP. I use to play the shit out of it in vanilla and The Burning Crusade. I just don't have the time to devote to a game like this anymore.

It's amazing really, I wonder if the same team worked on it.

Did you get the Legion app?

Been running missions on it all day - don't have to bounce back and forth to Skyhold.

Popped 107 tonight - Did Highmountain, Val'Sharah (which was gorgeous) and Azsuna (which was also gorgeous) - gotta pick my next strike point tomorrow, spent too much time doing blacksmithing missions for Darkmoon rep.

There is so much to do.

I completely skipped everything post MoP, including the Thunder King expansion.
