Please consider adding an "Other Languages" forum in the International section for those who speak the CURRENTLY less popular languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Norwegian, Dutch, et al.

It would be a space they could share and serve as a meeting point for old and new members. Perhaps every few months languages could come up for review and if there is sufficient demand, a language could have a forum of its own. Until then, I think other languages deserve a spot in the international section rather than general disscussion.

You're a very cool guy Carlson, but since when German is more popular than Spanish,Portuguese ??

Don't get me wrong, this is not ment to offend anybody, but German is spoken in Germany/Switzerland( not the entire country though )/Austria/ Lieschtenstein ??

Calculate the entire population of these countries...

Calculate the population of Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay... Brazil ( Wich is almost half of the South America )!

Portugal and Spain aren't even needed to be counted.

Dutch forum too! Let's go Dutch boys! :D

When I refer to "popular" my scope does not go outside of the Neo-Geo.com community. After all, Brazil is the 4th largest Demoracy in the World, but a Portuguese presence on the neo-geo.com forums is still in its infantcy. Perhaps if we can maintain 5 worthwhile threads inside of an "other languages" forum, Judge Dredd may reevaluate the relevance of a Portuguese forum in our favor.

For an international forum to be truly international, all languages deserve a place there (even if they share it with other languages). Why should the General Discussion be the proving ground for a language community when we have an international section?

Judging from the popularity of the Portugese thread in the General Discussion, I also think it would be a good idea to at least create an "Other Languages" forum. This way, it wouldn't have to be in General Discussion.

And no, I don't speak portugese myself... ;)

I agree. An "Other Languages" forum would be quite useful to those who speak other languages and worship the Neo as much as we do. Make it, Shawn! :D

I first thought to have just a "other language" forum for everything. It seems as if once a certain language gets its own forum, some other guy that knows a language that doesn't have one is going to start one up just to see if one is made.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Just make one "Other Languages" forum for everyone. French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portugese, Klingon, everything.

If Spanish and Portugese forums get made, someone else is going to try to start up a thread and get a forum made for that. And everyone's going to get sick of scrolling past forums for every language on the planet at some point.

Firstly I thought myself it was a pain in the ass to scroll down the entire web page... but I'm already used to do it. Even if new forums are coming, It'll be ok for me. I think that this site only have to win with this.

Remember, the foreigners always have made this site popular. US/Canada posters are the "heart" of this site, while everyone else works as his lungs in my point of view. ;)

Well, I think Spanish and Portuguese deserve a forum each one. There shouldn't be a difference between those and the 3 languages that already got theirs. So if you make a "other languages forum", you should eliminate those 3 and put them there.
Another possibility would be making forums in pairs or groups of 3. What about one forum Spanish-Portuguese-Italian, and one French-German-Dutch?

Remember that SNK has most of its games in Spanish and Portuguese too, so it makes sense that they are used here.

About the threads in general discussion with foreign languages, I'm the first that doesn't like them, but hey, that 3 languages made theirs and as a prize they got their own forum. I told Shawn that was like opening a Pandora box and everybody would do the same, so please don't make us go that way and give us the forum. But somehow he encouraged the creation of that thread, so there we go.

Finally, there's some neo fans worldwide that don't know English, so that way they can't use the forums. But if they could post in a place with their language, then problem solved.
