I still don't have Gamecube and you won't believe the reason, I want the orange one, from what I've heard, Nintendo of America may never release that color, looks like I'll have to get the modified orange Gamecube from NCS.

Nintendo is starting to make some critical mistakes by overlooking US market, I mean, US market is growing, yet, Nintendo is ignoring us by skipping certain products they have and maintaining "Japan first" policy and attitude, this kind of arrogance is what took Sega down a few years ago. I'm also talking about Panasonic's Q, I'm not interested, but when Panasonic decided not to bring it here, they're missing a lot of potential markets.

Even when the Neo Geo was mainstream SNK-Japan sort of wrote it off. While Nintendo is a lot better, the overtly pro-Japan, whatever-US policy is annoying...

Bobak, the dif here is, Neo-Geo's games are universal and I prefer the Jp game's artwork, so SNK's policies didn't affect me at all. But here you're talking about a system I'd have to pay almost $100 more and I personally don't like modding a system, it reduces the system's lifespan regardless of what anyone claims how good they'll handle the mod.

Personally I don't either but I don't think modding reduces the system's lifespan. PS console (first generation model) is the only modded system I have and it still works perfectly after almost 6 years. You tell me....

Well, after a bunch of the "big" Playstation titles (legitimate copies) refused to boot up on modded playstations with older modchips, I think that it'd be smart to see if this would happen, and if it does, wait till' a later generation of mod-chips... I mean sure, it could be cool, but a year down the line, and if your GameCube refuses to boot up that brand new minty-fresh Mario Sunshine you just bought, that'd really suck.

I also think that they will indeed release orange here If not soon, then EVENTUALLY... I mean look at all the colors of N64's they released later on.. Gameboys.. GBA's.. Gameboy pockets... Etc. Plus they already released an orange controller.

I think that playing CDrs could possibly shorten a game systems lifespan if the CDr is hastily burned.

I really doubt that simply modding a system will shorten the lifespan.
