(Here goes...)

Just a quick hello...I haven't been here in ages.

Just some quick followups for those that I know. I made a pretty massive career change a few years back, moving from contracting world, to the engineering world.

Physically, I had some really bad sciatica issues that just getting worse. It go so bad that in early 2024, I started down the path of trying to figure out why. Turns out I had a broken back, on my L5. In short, landed up having a spinal fusion between my L5 and S1, about 3 weeks ago. Currently bored and on leave from work.

Still married to my wife, we went through a massive rough patch in 2021 and was basically at divorce's door...but lots of work, and plenty of therapy got us through that, and we're doing amazingly well now.

My one and only kiddo...born in 2008, some 3 years after I joined this place, is now going to graduate next year. She's going into the Air Force, and doing amazingly...we're so proud of her and being a parent has been an amazing journey.

In short...things are going amazing, my life, though plenty of work, has really been taking shape...nothing but positivity to report. For those I've been in contact with, in the past, I sent out a friendly "hello".

I’m glad things are going well for you!

Do you sleep in the same bed as your wife now?

Yeah...and as much as it hurts my ego to admit this, so many here that spoke of that being a sign of relationship-rot, back when I discussed it, were totally right. We corrected that years ago.

Currently...eh, that's ironically a bit of a different story. I can sleep in a bed for about 3-4 hrs, but this goddamn spinal fusion really messes with my back, so I have to get up, go downstairs, and sleep the rest of the night in a recliner. This isn't permanent, though...

Probably at the wrong place in that case bro

Edit: sis
Yeah...zero hard feelings on my end, I knew it was coming.

To quote good ol' Danny Glover "I'm too old for this shit"...I'll leave the trolling to someone else.

Four children, high pressure job, sold one collection for another, living the dream, mate…

How about you?
Three children, low pressure hose, selling the missus on the streets, living nightmare

Still smiling though
