Go for the dc version cause eo sucks bigtime.

Or you could just turn EO off. No one forced you to buy the GameCube version :p

And yes, MOTW is better than all of them. Put together, even ;)

I really like S v C.

I HATE the crap look of those almost 3-d effects on the ps 2 games and xbox when you hit someone you know what i mean? its like fire for example, it looks SHIT on the mainstream consoles etc..

anyways, i dont think SVC gets 1/10 of the respect it will get when its 1 year down the line and the atomiswave gets the sequel...you will resort to buying neo version cuz u can play as ryu without 6 button upgrade/suicide battery headaches!:mr_t:

I love MOTW as much as the next guy, but I have to say that SF3: Third Strike is the best fist fighter out. That's hard to say since KOF98/2k2/MOTW/Vampire series are all so good.

I agree with this, but I don't ever think there can be one "best fighter," know what I mean? Perhaps a best 3 fighters, because there are fighters out there that offer so much. Kinda like Virtua Fighter EO is drastically different from Third Strike and KOF 2k1, but all games are just downright sick in their own rights.

I love both CVS2 and SVCC. They both have their merits and draw backs.

As someone who loves both SNK and Capcom fighting games, I am always happy when the two companies collabortate.

(On a side note)

As for Blanka being cheap...well, he isn't.
If you were to watch any Japanese tournament videos, you would see anyone stupid enough to use blanka get utterly destroyed.

Whenever someone gets cute and uses Blanka against me, I pick Bison.

I recommend doing the same if you are having trouble with the green menace.

SNK V Capcom is a far more accurate portrayal of a battle that fro too long was destined only to be waged in the minds of those with too much time.
The first cap V Snk games was one of the cheapest unbalanced fighters ever. For all its looks and hype, its possible to beat all the other characters in the game on the hardest level just by using dhalsim and his long limbs. Where's the fun in a game where you can just press one button and win??? Also the story was zero existent.
Sure Capcom V Snk 2 addressed most of these issues and graphics and presentation wise it does kick SNK V capcoms ass.
But if you want a balanced realistic battle between old skool street fighter 2 V Neo geo, you gotta go with the AES game. The sprites and characetr line ups are great. The story solid, although I too notice the inconsistent bgs and sound tracks.
If the quality of the Red arremer and engine room stage could have been kept up all thru in terms of sound and bg's than it would have been awesome but whats left isnt too bad either.
The most serious gripe I have is, the obvious cut down in animation from pcb to aes cart.

Even though the sprites in CvS2 have more frames animation and looks cartoony, i still prefer the realistic look of the sprites in chaos. They just look better in another way if you know what i mean.I love the way some of the capcom characters look especially Akuma and the rest of the shotos. The SNK fighters, despite some of them being ripped from KOF still looks just fine.

I don't know what the big deal with 3rd is. It was the reason I bought my DC but its one of the games I enjoyed the least. Can't argue about its graphics since they are pretty amazing but I found the gameplay boring and only like Ryu and Ken out of the cast.

Man, the gameplay is DEEP. Look past the incredible graphics (BTW, I will always feel that the first SF3 is the best in the series for both graphics and presentation). You will see that the game is so deep with the parry system, the skills of dashing, crossovers and anti-crossovers. Pressure games, the fact that some moves dish out more "dizzy damage" and how some characters can take more punches than others before becoming said dizzy. There's tons of moves and combos. Great characters to choose from, and of course, the music. I'm dying to get a dedicated SF3 machine. I hope to get any of the three, as the series is so damned good. Either the first or the third, preferably. Oops, rambling again.

The first time I played SvC,I hated it.

I thought to myself "Old SNK-Capcom line-up,outdated look,4-buttons..how uninteresting".

Now,after I spent more time playing it,SvC kinda grew on me.

Sure,it's buggy as shit, but the game itself is pretty cool.

Oh yeah,SvC > CvS.

You're great spike - I also yearn for an SF3 cab (yes, any, I'm a hapless fanboy), and those slagging 3rd strike should just get into practice mode for a while with a char you havn't used before (yun? urien? oro?) and have a blast..

yes its a little different to SF2 or any other fighter as a matter of fact, but its advanced , you realise after getting better at it that its DEEP, yes like the ocean,

and plus, the combo's, skill, and level of showmanship you can perform is like no other, some things just look amazing, and require real skill.

I find myself playing it differently not alike the rigid SF2 series everyone rants about, maybe even 2X.. "omg he said 2X"

signing off..

I agree on the first part, but Blanka vs. Bison in CvS2?

While Bison is damned strong in his own way Blanka would OWN Bison.

Bison has one overly major flaw, lag after his specials.

You know that someone during a match with Bison is going to throw the Firce Psycho Crusher, that's when it ends.

Just wait for the block ticks to finish and then BAM level 3 super. Watch him die.

My favorite is to do it with Kim, but Blanka is also just as deadly since he has that ungodly 0-frame super.

The only tricky part is doing the super move the way you were already facing, which is wierd because Bison is now technically behind you since he "went through" your character. But once you know to execute the move right after the 3rd block tick and the proper direction to do the motion in, Bison gets whooped.

And BTW, CvS2 >>> SvC. That's why CvS2 gets played at worldwide tournaments and SvC gets neglected like a $2 whore now.

Say what you want about hating the graphics and effects of "teh mainstream", but Capcom made the more competition worthy fighter.
