Ogre Battle

At the mo Ogre Battle is only available in jap version. True? And if so: Is it playable for us non-japanese?

Also, the story behind Ogre sounds like some fantasy version of Advanced Military Commander (Genesis)...

Yepp its only released in jap.
Nope its not possible to play it in english.

Did u know Ogre Battle on SNES or Ogrebattle 64 on N64 ? Its like that and its a great game. But without undserstanding what the people in the game talk about u dont need to play it, because u will not get all troops ect. <IMG SRC="smilies/ohno.gif" border="0">

Ah, no, didn't get into big N too much. Can it be compared to the Warhammer series on PSX (by SSI/Mindscape) then? Always liked it, kinda cool strategy/fantasy mix.

Hmmm no i dont think so... its like u got a main base and must get all Enemy bases and the mai Enemy base. U can choose Troops to get out from ur base. Each Troop has a leader with some other soldiers, Monsters, ect. . U can also draw a tarrot card in the battle to gain advabtage.
if u too good ur reputation will go down because its unfair to battle aganst weaker enemys.
U can also talk with some enemys and coose some answers to get them to ur troops.

Yep, that's right... Just found the game in a PSX release list. Too bad I've missed it... I've found the PSX version for sale, for $25, but I'd rather save the money and spend it for Evolution or Faselei.

ver.!By the way in what the major character
transforms in that scene?He can`t change jobs
and he becomes something like Pladin.He can

This really doesn't make sense, I mean how can you guys put down this game when you have played the original version?? It is the exact same thing just with japanese. If you could beat Ogre Battle or Tactics Ogre then you should be able to play this. All of the commands are exactly the same as the other two. The only thing you can't understand is the dialoague. But then again coming from an Ogre Battle freak from your guys point of view you may be correct.

Hmm i dont know 100% about Ogre Battle on PSX but i really know it was a tactics Ogre on PSX. Well Tactics Orge is not the same like Ogre Battle. Tactics is more like Final Fantasy Tactics while Ogre Barrtle is original. Maybe they brougt out a SNES Ogre Battle on PSX like the old Final Fantasys.

There was actually an Ogre Battle (other than the Tactics Ogre) one released on PSX that was a remake of the Super Nes one except with a nice graphic makeover. Anyway in my opinion even as an ogre battle fan it just isn't the same without readable text. It just degrades the experience, afterall its not a fighting game where text doesnt matter at all it is a RPG/ Stratgey game which even if you have played the original you might have forgotten something.

If you mean Ogre Battle for PSX then they already did release it in the U.S back in 1997 but if you mean Ogre Battle for the NGPC then its unlikely unless SNK makes some sort of comeback to the American/ European markets.

both playstation Ogre Battle games are remakes of super famicom/nes games

Ogre Battle on snes was remade into Ogre Battle : March Of The Black Queen for psx

BTW I own the USA ver of Ogre Battle.It quite
dumb indeed...But the hidden treasures over the map are cool but the gameplay sucks.You
should try Tactics Ogre Battle it`s better.
