This is a good time for him to leave. He's had a lot of exposure and he's a great wrestler.

Enzo is apparently seen as a [resigned sigh] "ratings draw."

Seriously. RAW ratings have ticked up for his segments in the past few weeks, thus his continuing main event slot.

I'm continually amazed at how they waste smaller guys' talent (Neville, Aries, plenty of others), but I know I shouldn't be at this point.

WWE has fired Jimmy Jacobs from his creative position for taking a photo with Bullet Club.

Jacobs is best known for his 12 year run in ROH, where he won the World Tag Team Championship 5 times.

I hope he goes back to ROH, either as a writer or a wrestler. He's only 33 years old.

A buddy posted a pic of empty seats at HiaC.

I told him it was announced as sold out and he laughed.

Jimmy Jacobs already has a t shirt for sale

This invasion thing couldn't have gone better for the Bucks:
-they expose WWE papering shows on their Youtube channel
-WWE acknowledges them by hitting them with a cease and desist over the "too sweet" and "suck it" phrases and gestures, threatens to sue them if they keep selling merch with that stuff. Bucks sell all the merch on eBay and give the money to a children's hospital, so if WWE sues they look like total assholes. Then the Bucks release shirts that say "cease and desist" which become big sellers and will surely be worn by fans to WWE shows for years to come
-WWE fires the dude who came up with Jericho's list for taking a photo with Bullet Club, further validating their invasion. Said dude immediately sells shirts drawing attention to the incident

And all this coincidentally when Neville walks out of the company, while the Young Bucks are tweeting pictures of Bullet Club shirts at him.

And Cody Rhodes is clearly teasing a feud with Bryan Danielson, whose contract with WWE expires in time for him to appear at Final Battle 2018, which the Young Bucks referenced in their Youtube series.

Bullet Club just straight up worked Vince McMahon into promoting their brand, and now he's drawing attention to possibly the biggest match outside WWE since WCW died, Bryan Danielson's return to the ring.

All Vince had to do was ignore the invasion and Bullet Club comes off looking lame. Like they're too small for Vince to even care.

But he's clearly scurred.

Meltzer on the future of Lucha Underground:
The owners are trying now to make a television deal away from El Rey. Essentially they are shopping the show around hoping that another station will pick it up and pay enough to produce the show at nearly the previous levels. The people who put the money in for the last two seasons are not putting anymore in because the show drove almost no revenue. As noted, El Rey will pay something for programming, but not nearly enough to produce the show at close to the level it as been done at. El Rey and Robert Rodriguez would maintain having an ownership stake if it moves to a new station. The obvious issue is what television station would want a show with a budget of $400,000 per episode that draws 100,000 to 175,000 viewers weekly over two airings, and more importantly, where viewership generally has been down this season and not up, and overall buzz is way down. According to one person close to most of the parties involved, there is a major divide among the management team. On one side, they want to shut the project down, arguing that the costs are too high and after three seasons they’ve never made any money. The feeling on that side is that you know where you stand, the audience isn’t growing, and anything more would be throwing good money after bad. Two key executives are of that belief. On the other side is Eric Van Wagenen, Dorian Roldan and Vampiro, who all believe in the project and feel it just needs time and better exposure to watch on. Alex Garcia and Antonio Cue-Navarro, who put up the money for the last two seasons, have refused to put more money into the project. Right now it appears that unless they can find new funding, or get a new TV station to pay the costs, the choice is to stay on El Rey for a heavily stripped down version or to close it down.

Turns out when you run a wrestling promotion that doesn't charge for tickets, tour, sell DVDs, run PPVs/iPPVs, or sell much merch it ends up being hard to make any money.

I hope they can figure out a way to get another season. A severely reduced budget is better than nothing at all.

Holy shit, you can't make this up

One day after hitting them with a cease and desist, WWE called the Young Bucks and asked them to do motion capture for WWE 2K19 so that fans could more easily create them as custom characters in the create-a-wrestler mode. Apparently they are the most created wrestlers the last few years.

Was it WWE or was it 2K since most people assume WWE makes it the same way Nintendo makes every video game? Hell Low-Ki was part of the mocap team for 2K16 or 2K17 and has been firing shots at the ‘E since he left.

Sucks for Jacob but he knew he could get fired especially if KO and Corino aka the reasonable heads in his inner circle probably told him don’t do that.

Oh well this works for both parties as people know who the Bucks are for poking the ‘E and people who think they’re cool and a rebel still pay money to show up to a WWE show wearing Bucks merch.

Now to go back to figuring out how to finish watching NJPW KoPW while at work

Kevin Owens and AJ Styles have both appeared on Being the Elite in the past while employed by WWE and didn't get in trouble. Jimmy Jacobs just happened to do it when Vince got super butthurt about the invasion.

The problem on that one is the network. Though I do feel that season 3 has been a bit of a slog.

You put Lucha Underground on Spike and it will do 2 million viewers.

2 million viewers is close to Smackdown levels. Lucha Underground wouldn't do those numbers on broadcast TV, let alone cable. Right now they do less than NJPW on AXS despite El Rey being bigger than AXS TV.

Besides, they're on Netflix and that hasn't moved the needle at all.

NJPW does about 200,000 US viewers per week, which is right in between Impact and Lucha Underground, and less than half of ROH.

They took away Rhino's Gore because it makes Reigns' shitty spear look even more shitty.

Rhino is finishing matches with a spinebuster now.

He should be finishing with a Jackhammer instead.

Then they can finally get him over as a monster.

Rhino should just go back to ROH. One of the all time squandered talents in WWE. He was amazing in ECW, TNA, and ROH.

Bullet Club declared Freebird Rules on the ROH World Six Man Tag Team Championship last night and Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, and Marty Scurll defended the titles which were won by Adam Page and the Young Bucks.

I like it, personally. It allows a lot of possible combinations to defend the belts.
